Looks like Ravens ownership expects him to walk. What do you think? He could be the field stretcher we need.
He would be a good replacement for Harvin if Harvin is let go. In order for Torrey to fulfill his potential here, we will def need a strong armed QB, as Torrey really is only a deep threat.
Depends on how much he's coming for..my guess is he'll want more than he's worth. On the list of WR free agents and from the draft he probably isn't even in my 10 most wanted.
I'd want him on the team, but at a price far less than he'll actually cost. I'd be very surprised if the 8-10M/year he'll probably get will prove to be worthwhile . Looks like the Jets will have at least one of two very, very good WRs on the board at #6 too. I'd take Kevin White or Amari Cooper over Torrey Smith, Michael Crabtree, Jeremy Maclin or most any other free agent WR
They are very, very different players. That being said, I wouldn't say no to Torrey at the right price.
Because he wants to be the next Mike Wallace. He will be asking for way too much money for what he is worth. Hopefully Oakland takes a look.
No, pass. I've never been a Torrey Smith guy. Some team is going to overpay though. The Ravens are smart and disciplined enough financially to let him walk after he turned down their offer.
Idk last year he really seemed to turn a corner and was on fire before he tweaked his knee Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He'd be a decent pickup. If he walked in right now he'd probably be the no.2 receiver. Yes, over Harvin because Harvin is a gadget player not a Wide Receiver
Keep telling yourself this, maybe one day it will be true. I would pass on him and try to restructure with Harvin. Percy is the better receiver, but the one thing that Smith does, he does really well. He can get down field and get past his man but other than that, he doesn't do much else. I would take Harvin nine times out of 10.
Harvin's obviously the better player, he's just an offensive weapon not a wide receiver like Smith. Ideally I would like to see both on this team but I highly, highly doubt they will get Harvin to restructure for the sake of restructuring.
Smith is traditionally a receiver, yes, but he's a one trick pony and has a bad knee to boot. I mean, for the right price, I'd welcome him right on board because we have no deep threat right now except Harvin (and yes, he is). Also with Harvin... I think when people hear "restructure" they automatically think "take less money" but that's not necessarily true. Convert half of that money into a signing bonus and you can spread the cap hit out. Harvin gets all his money and the cap hit is lower. I don't think it's that hard honestly, especially if the market for him isn't great.
