If Purdy does well enough in the playoffs I could see this happening If Lance wouldn't cost too much (2nd or 3rd), have a 3 way competition with Lance, Wilson, and White/Minshew, and let the best man win.. if either Lance or Wilson realize their potential we strike gold without giving up much or taking on much salary.. if not White/Minshew can be the stop gap for one more season.
Trade Wilson for Lance and resign Mike White or a different vet. Let Lance sit behind White/Vet where he can learn and develop properly.
Guys, we were just discussing how Zach was over drafted since he didn't play tough competition only had one good year and then just one great year, etc. Lance didn't even play in FBS. He only played one year in FCS. Sat for a year in NFL, played like shit in his first NFL game, then out for the year in the second. Haven't we learned anything from Zach fiasco? No, thanks.

It is hard to believe that they would cut bait on the 3rd overall for Purdy unless they think Lance REALLY isn't the guy and don't want people to know it.

Yeah really hard to believe they're that convinced after 3 games. Even if you're leaning Purdy why would you jettison Lance? Going to need a back up either way and he's on a rookie deal
The Jets need to bring in a proven, reliable quarterback to lead this team. Lance is untested and too big of a question mark. Next year has got to be the year the Jets get to the playoffs and make some noise in the post-season and beyond.

How can you say that? No one has a clue if Lance is a good football player. He threw for 174 yards a start in 2018 on a team that won 8/10 National Championships in the decade. I fully expect the NFL to fix it’s over correction to find the next Josh Allen. Joe Burrow might have a top 15 arm in the NFL if he’s lucky and is nowhere near a top athlete and he’s a top 3 player at the position. Big strong arms are fun but the NFL quarterback just needs a good enough arm.
