Wayne Chrebet will always be my fav WR for the Jets. I have his jersey and will miss him on the field. I hope they will retire his number on the opening home game We will miss you Chrebet.

The two games that don't get that much publicity in Wayne's career but that I remember epitomizing his ability was the last preseason game his rookie season. It was vs. Cincinnati and he had like 10 catches. I think it sealed his position on the team. Then there was the Seattle game (parcells' first regular season game in 1997). They killed Seattle in Seattle, and Wayne had a great game, if I remember.
Wayne was a joy to watch and root for. He also has the distinct honor of being the player that hooked my wife (future wife at the time) on football and the NYJ in general. We were just dating in '98 and I wouldn't dream of missing a Jets game. Bless her heart she sat right there with me every Sunday (even if she didn't know what was going on). After seeing Wayne in an interview she asked me who he was - I explained his story - she was hooked (of course it had more to do with her thinking he was hot). Happy to say 8 years later she watch's every game - screams and moans with the best of Jets fans - and I owe it all to Wayne. My hats off to you brother!
