JD seems to be getting better at building a roster. At first it was only build through the draft, thats why we ran out so many rookies last year. This year he seems to have loosened up a bit by adding some key veterans via free agency...Reed, Whitehead, Joyner, Uzomah, Conklin, Tomlinson, Coleman, Curry, Thomas, Martin, Flacco, to go along with the youth this team has. Now some of our starters last year are backups this year. This year JD killed the draft and added more youth at key positions, Gardner, Wilson, Johnson, Hall, Ruckert, Mitchell, Clemons. Now we are deep at most positions such as QB, TE, WR, RB,...CB, DL. The only positions we're we can use more quality depth is S, OL, LB, (which will be top of the list next draft). We're the 3rd youngest team in the NFL and we're just hitting our stride. This is a perfect situation set up by JD for years to come. Keep the pipeline going with youth & compliment them with veterans seems to be the way to go. JD has gotten better each of the past 3 years, lets hope Saleh & his CS does the same. In JD I trust...I want to trust our CS, only time will tell.
I think last years number of rookie reps was somewhat intended to get rookies reps and somewhat from bad luck where we had an insane amount of injuries particularly to new FA signings Lawson, Joyner, Davis, Kroft and key returning players Maye, Becton and also to our rookies Moore and Carter. I think JD intended last year to be a learning year. Get rookies reps and for him to learn what the CS really needs then fill in those gaps this year. Which you saw him do in FA and the draft. Hopefully we will stay healthier this year. But, we should be better equipped to handle injuries this year with better depth.
everybody has a plan until they get punched in the face... we've accomplished NOTHING on paper? IDGAF after 4th game we'll know something
