Chad never had a strong arm, although it certainly is worse after his surgeries, but what explains his bone headed interceptions lately? You can't blame his arm for most of these--they appear to be more mental errors than poor throws. His strenghts were always his intelligence and ability to read of the defense--I see no evidence of either this season.

yeah chad's assets aren't apparent anymore. i would say the only thing he has left is his accuracy and his amazing ability to dink and dunk. Other than that, theres nothing left.

He lost it about three years ago, now he just goes on what people remember in the past.

Also remember how confident he was 2002. He was so amazing, he was a role model for me. I would always look at how Chad handled things to inspire me in life. After 2002 and the series of injuries, he lost it. I can't blame him I think he is frustraited at how fragile he is. Other than lifting weights and maybe a few other things, you can't prevent injury from occuring. Chad's arm is done, hes hopping now to throw his passes as evidenced by that God awful interception.

He knows he doesn't have the physical ability, he knows the fans know he doesn't have the physical ability, and he's pressing.

That's true, but the extra weight really does help. Muscle mass, flexibility and stamina are the best ways to prevent injury. It won't stop it for sure bit it will reduce the chances tremendously and you will recover quickly from injuries that you do sustain.

Also usually once you first sustain an injury, and the older you get, the better chance of getting them again. We wanted to think Chad getting injured was flukey, but it happened too often for that to be true.

Early in his career, Herm Edwards may have been prophetic in his appraisal of Pennington. He used to think too much instead of just letting things happen and from watching him lately, I'd have to agree.

Shad Pentium has become as annoying behind center with all the communication/playcalling as Peyton Manning ever was. Has anyone notice every play runs 40secs or more off the clock except when they're in their version of the "2-hr drill"????

Every damn play, he's either repositioning people or trying to draw penalties instead of concentrating on making the play work. I doubt if every play, his backfield is out of position too. I think that's just plain, old fashioned BS.

I was never a Pentium fan and was more inclined to overlook all of his deficiencies but now? I can't do that anymore. Chad is known for being a great leader. Sometimes that means you have to know when its time to sitdown and let someone else try to get things done right.

Mangina, Shittz and Shad all need to have a powwow and honestly appraise the performance of the offense and in particular, the Qb play. They need to check Ego at the door and get this team pointed in the right direction before dissention starts to eat away at whatever cohesion is left.

The biggest difference now is the defenses KNOW his arm is butter, and they jump the routes. Same for why we can't run--the safeties crowd the LOS.

Chad was the man back in 2002...injuries have weakened his arm and will NEVER be the same.

Chad often won games on inteligence alone, but lobbing the ball into double coverage and zone d and expecting the wr to out jump 2 db's is never going to win anything. I have been an avid supporter of chad, but I think it is time to moveon to determine whether Kellen is the future or do the Jets have to pursue a QB next year.

    What happened to Chad's head?

The only quality answer I can think of is maybe the receivers made him catch a couple of those suicide pases he throws.

Funny you say that. I have been thinking that for the last two years myself and it has gotten to the point where I can't even watch him anymore. I have to look away. The same way I feel about Manning.

He is making too quick decisions. He has always had the benifit of a good O-line. Not this year. So he is anticipating getting crushed and throwing way too fast. It really wasn't necessasary yesterday, because the pass protection was fine IMO.

And in the Buffalo Game, with 11 sedonds left, and Yesterday, going in for score, Checkdown Chad had the receiver underneath, open.

In Buffalo, Baker was open headed for the sideline, 2 yard closer than McCraphands, and Captain Checkdown Chucked it up for grabs.

    Yesterdays was far worse.

At the line, he had to see 9 men on the line, and man coverage to the outside.

Before the snap Both corners started to inch back, and the inside guy (Cotchery) went to the outside. This left Coles 3 yards off the line, with a 7 yard cushion, and Cotchery double covered, but in a position to block.

We all know how that turned out.

I think you are 100% correct, he has no faith in the o-line and from his reaction when he got hurt against NE, he is not taking any chances, it's get it out as fast as he can. That fake blitz, drop back into coverage, a first year QB can see, but he dropped back and just threw it.

He feels the short leash . . . knows Kellen is waiting in the wings . . . and has started playing scared.
