You know what? This thread actually put things in perspective for me and made me realize...last year this game would have been an L. Keep up the good job coach Bowles and pleeaaaaasssse get the win on Thursday night.I want this one more than that Pats game.
We did all that and still only won by 5 to the damn Jags. I know we won and I'll take it. But let be real the Jets have not look good the past 2 weeks. Now with all that said we are 5-3 and shit can be fixed.
Yet we won by 5 points to a 2-6 team that forced 0 turnovers to our 4. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that we are second in the division, but we aren't going anywhere in the playoffs with the product we are putting on the field now.
Stop with the positive feel good bulls%it and call it like its been since the Pats game, we've SUCKED. If we don't play with more emotion against the Bills we are going to have our heads handed to us. You know Rex will have his guys jacked like he had us when we played the Pats.
It took TB 2 quarters to go from conservative going into halftime to aggressive when we threw the ball and got the TD late in the 4th which is far better than any of the other coaches who have been in and out of our franchise since Parcells. We've already upped our win total of last year...and people are seriously calling him Toilet Bowels SMH
We had a fourth quarter lead against the best team in the league, we laid an egg on the west coast, and we won an ugly game at home. Step off the ledge and take a breath. If we take care of business Thursday we'll be 6-3 with 10 days to prepare for a bad Houston team, basically staring 7-3 in the face. Agree that we have to play better Thursday, but c'mon man. Have some perspective here.
My friend I am not on a ledge and my perspective is spot on, we have played terribly the last 2 games . The Pats was a game we should have won but since that game we've been FLAT, played with little to no emotion. We had a quiet confidence and the past 2 games it's been gone. Believe me I'm not the usual poster jumping out the window but this team hasn't put forth much of an effort these past few games.
Who's fault is it that the expectations are higher? Not the coaches because none of em are saying this is a Superbowl team, Rex Ryan style. If anything they have been trying to keep expectations down. Fans elevated their expectations because the team started off hot and they thought this team was better than it really was. Now fans want to kill the coaches and players because they haven't met their expectations, but it's not on them. That's on the fans. They set their expectations too high, thinking this team is a top team because they started 3-1, when in reality the team has had flaws from the start and was fortunate taking advantage of a weak schedule I could understand being down on the D the last few weeks because they seemed to be better. However, maybe they weren't as good we thought after the first few weeks. Maybe they looked as good because of the opposing offenses that they were going against. If so people are just taking out their anger on the team because they got fooled into thinking the team was better than they really were or they actually think the defense is better than it actually is. If it's the former, again, that's on the fan for getting their expectations to high and if it's the latter they are just going to keep themselves mad because the defense is never going to reach the expectations since they are just not as good as they think
So you're saying we're at least PO team coming off a 4-12 season, yet your still disappointed. SOJ BS.
I agree with you that we certainly need to play better Thursday than we have the last two weeks. I thought the effort was certainly better on defense this week than the Oakland game, but that's not saying much. I'm confident we will play better Thursday than the past two weeks; I meant no disrespect with my post, I just feel like a lot of people on here are being unnecessarily negative. Not necessarily you. Here's to a better game Thursday and kicking the Bills asses!
No emotion that a team that plays with pride plays , not the chaos that Rex inspires . This team has checked out the past 2 games , played with no urgency . To come out with effort like this after the game they played last week is worrisome to me . They should have been pissed as hell after last weeks missed tackle extravaganza but they still played flat and uninspired football. Were they better then last week, well it's not saying much but YES, but they still need a shot of adrenaline Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
What a great thread, calling people out about complaining about the way the teams faults, by doing the exact same thing you're complaining about......makes perfect sense
