of course that couldn't happen right??. well the gloom and doom around here after game 1 is enjoyable but i'll be staying miles away if we do in fact hit the wall the next 2 weeks.... make no mistake about it, many and i mean MANY observers would like nothing better than to see the jets flounder and eat major crow. can u folks imagine what it would be like on WFAN and 1050 here in the tristate area. there aren't enough bridges around here.... personally i'd be pissed but not too crazy as i have been thru the since 1978. hell, looking out another 1-2 years it could turn out to be the proverbial blessing in disguise but that would be a warped way to look at it now wouldn't it. i have seen at times, year #2 of a "new regime", stumble out of the gate for whatever reason after a successful and surprising year #1. expectations are thru the roof and players are confident as ever. wouldn't surprise me if this turns out to be the case and holy hell breaks loose around here. however that same team can all of a sudden snap out of it and turn a 0-2, 0-3, 1-4 start into a 10-6, 11-5 campaign and roll right into the post season. hell the jets did it in 2002, despite the efforts of the people in charge. 1998 and 1981 also produced big years after floundering out of the gate. even look at last year and the SOJ threats in december. these next 2 weeks are gonna be tough and the pats/fish are licking their chops. this will likely be the best time this year to play the jets so they better take advantage of it. its a long season, try to enjoy. best jil
Meh... I can see us losing to the Pats (hey, they're a good team) but IF that happens we'd kick the shit out of the Dolphins... so imo we have too much talent to go 0-3.
A defense like ours will give us a chance to win every game this year... even if we start 0-3 the season isn't "over". It'd be a huge hole to climb out of, and the fan base would be ripping the team to pieces, but that's why you play 16 games. Plus there's no fucking way our offense is as bad as it was on Monday. If there is another performance like that Schittenheimer should be canned immediately.
Hey guys we could still get the 15-1 like we predicted before. This team has miles of talent, they were just unorganized. No way we get that many penalties and no way is the offense that bad for the rest of the season. It can only go up from here.
What if 0-1 turns into 13-1 and the Jets have homefield advantage? Do we rest our starters the final 2 games? Man, thats a tough one.....
Putting the penalties aside, what I saw the other night was the best Jet defense since the Sack Exchange years. Let's face it, Rex knows how to build a defense. Even if we went 4-12 I would want him back next year without question.
0-3 would be bad but it would be premature to panic. Our first three games are against tough opponents. We only lost to Baltimore by one lousy point. In week 5 we get help on both sides of the ball from Santonio Holmes and Calvin Pace.
AFCCG in 2009???????? Div: 2-4 Conf 7-5 We should be looking for a high draft pick if we start 0-2....
