ok first of all.. for all those that are thinking of drafting defense are not thinking clearly.. we are a team that needs to start using the next few drafts to get solid offensive players to start building this franchise.. we have already used the last few drafts in the bradway era to draft defense so there is no way we should do that again.. what do you think would be a better combo for this and next years draft to start building a solid young offensive group... considering the fact that we are not going to be very good this year we will most likely have a high pick in next years draft.. 1. trade down this year and draft a RB (white or williams) and with extra picks get OL help: at least 2 (max jean-giles, mangold, winston) and then next year trade up to get a QB brady quinn who already is used to an NFL system with weis coaching there... OR draft a QB (cutler) with our first pick this year, draft OL help: only 1 (max jean-giles, mangold, winston) and next year trade up for a RB (adrian peterson) in the next 2 years we absolutely have to get a playmaker at QB and RB as well as solidify this OL... i like scenario 1 considering i think quinn is better than cutler.. white can be just as effective as peterson, and we get an extra Olineman in the 2nd round.. what do you guys think?? maybe there are other OFFENSIVE scenario you can come up with but i would be estatic with scenario 1 because i think we would definitely be in contention at the start of the 2007 season.. let me know.. thanks
It all depends on Pennington IMO. If he restructures, he stays, and we go with option 1. If he refuses, he gets cut, and we go with option 2. But thats not to say we have to completely ignore RB. Addai would be a great option IMO, he has everything you look for, my only concern is whether he can handle the load of being a fulltime back
well if we do draft a QB, we would need to get more OL help.. for this year if we go with scenario 2, then we wouldnt need a RB.. why draft a RB like Addai who may not be a fulltime back when we can just use martin, blaylock, and houston this year.. we def wouldnt draft a RB this year if we went with scenario 2.. too many other holes
