Either Coples or Richardson. I'd choose Coples outright but he's got that injury to deal with and Richardson has looked downright unblockable at times in the preseason.
Had to go with Mo on this one. I have high hopes for Richardson also and I might have gone with Coples if he was 100%, but Mo seems poised for a monster season, I just couldn't vote against him.
Sheldon Richardson after he gets his legs under him he'll get about 3 strip sacks that turn into points. At the end of the season he'll be sack leader and a major reason we'll be an top 15 scoring defense.
Funny, none of the 'experts' even mention Shelly as a potential DPOY, shows how little they actually know
Bump... So far 1 for Mo, 1 for Barnes and .5 for Pace and Richardson. Coples obviously isn't in the mix yet. It should be interesting to see how this plays out over the season. I expect to see some impressive numbers. So far it looks like Barnes might be the dark horse...
Wilkerson has pulled away with this... so far he seriously looks like a DPOY candidate while Richardson looks like a DROTY candidate... crazy this is a serious possibility after the way the season started (if you really want to have green shades on, if Rex gets them in the playoffs he could win coach of the year)
According to: http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/stats/_/name/nyj/new-york-jets MoWilk already has 8 sacks. Only guy with a shot to pass him would be Calvin Pace who currently has 5 sacks. Coples looked like a stud yesterday but the time off + recovering from injuries knocked him out of this race. Can't wait till next year when we can seriously debate this topic between Sheldon, MoWilk & Cople (and perhaps Pace?).
Crazy i thought coming into the year if Wilkerson could have 7-8 sacks on the year, that would be amazing for guy who predominantly plays in the interior, and already has such a big impact against the run. This dude is on pace for almost 15 sacks! Are you ****ing kidding me??? I dont know if he gets there but he should get to double digits. Seriously, after his rookie year I knew we had a player, but who saw this? And he seems like a really humble hometown kid. Keep grinding Mo.
Exactly. Rex loves his exotic blitzes, but now it's only icing on the cake because we get pressure rushing without it. Rex is probably like a kid in a candy store with that defensive front. The main priority this off season should be getting Big Mo extended. No doubt he gets 10-12 sacks before the year ends, which is great for a 3-4 DE.
ten people voted for Barnes for godsake and three probably voted for Ricky Sapp --- maybe Jake Steinberg logged in to be one of those three votes
I agree, I really wish Barnes didnt get hurt he could have been huge for us. Also, what is your avatar? lmao
Sacks - Wilkerson. Snacks - Harrison. Crack - Goodson. Whack - Cromartie. Slack - Holmes. Smack - Rex
