Apparently the Fins are looking to add Harrington as QB depth in the event Culpepper's knee keeps him out longer than expected:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2414492

This situation seems similar to our own (both teams have marquee QB's trying to return from season ending injuries, both replacement QB's have NFL starting experience and are considered 1st round busts at this stage in their careers). Who would YOU rather have (and why), Harrington or Ramsey?

    Some stats:

    Harrington
    Height: 6-4
    Weight: 220 lbs.
    Age: 27
    College: Oregon
    Drafted: Year:2002 Round:1 Pick:3, Lions

Yeah, I get why we're discussing this, but I reject the question outright. I hate BOTH lima beans and brussel sprouts, and rather than choose between them, I'll just throw them both on the floor and scream.

Ramsey. Yeah, this is an easy one. On the one hand you have Harrington, who has done nothing. On the other you have Ramsey, who has done next to nothing.

    :)

I would go with Ramsey, but they are neck and neck in my book. Ramsey gets the nod however because a) he costs less and b) he hasn't had as good of an opportunity as Harrington (3 first round WRs, 1 first round RB, coaches support, start a whole season, etc.)

Former third overall pick Harrington opts to sign with Fins
    April 20, 2006
    CBS SportsLine.com wire reports

MIAMI -- Detroit Lions quarterback Joey Harrington has decided to sign with the Miami Dolphins, his agent said Wednesday, giving the team a backup to new starter Daunte Culpepper.

With Culpepper facing an uncertain timetable in his recovery from a serious knee injury, Harrington might be Miami's No. 1 quarterback when the season begins.

The Dolphins and Lions are expected to complete a trade soon, sending Harrington to Miami. The Lions decided a month ago not to retain Harrington, a starter during his four seasons in Detroit.

"I look forward to joining the Miami Dolphins whenever I am released or a trade is completed," Harrington said in a statement from his agent, David Dunn. "The Dolphins are an ascending team with great coaching, and I can't wait to get started."

The Dolphins barely missed the playoffs last year after winning their final six games. Optimism about the 2006 season rose when Miami acquired Culpepper from Minnesota a month ago.

Gus Frerotte and Sage Rosenfels were the quarterbacks in Nick Saban's first season as Miami coach last year.

Harrington, drafted No. 3 overall in 2002, was 18-37 as a starter with the Lions under three coaches: Marty Mornhinweg, Steve Mariucci and Dick Jauron. He threw 60 touchdown passes and 62 interceptions with the Lions, and his career quarterback rating is a modest 68.1.

"I learned so much in Detroit, and I will always value those relationships and that experience," Harrington said. "At the same time, I am eager to get to work with my new team, whether that happens in a day, a week or a month."

The Dolphins and Lions have been trying for two weeks to work out a trade for Harrington. Lions spokesman Bill Keenist said the team did not have a comment on the situation. Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene didn't return a call seeking comment.

The Lions are certain to part with Harrington before June 15, when he is due a $4 million bonus. He'll likely be replaced by Jon Kitna or Josh McCown, both former starters who agreed to terms with Detroit last month.

Ramsey for sure...look at his stats compared to Harrington...Harrington is a huge bust while Ramsey has tons of untapped potential...either way so far they are both drowning almost equally!!

where is your logic behind that?

I think it's difficult to say who is better. I think neither of them was in an ideal situation. The redskins didn't have the patience to develop Ramsey and the Lions team was just not good. They both could become very good qb's on their 2nd teams. Sometimes it takes a while and the right coach for a qb to hit his potential. I think it's difficult to say either one is really better then the other.

I was joking. I think the two QB's are basically the same in terms of talent, and neither has reached their peak. It's too close to call, and there is no clear advantage between the two....

    Ramsey <> Harrington - As QB's...

Harrington > Ramsey - Running the respected offenses...

That's the only real advatage Harrington may have, if any. He's entering a much better situation in Miami, than Ramsey will be in New York{in my opinion}...

Ramsey for this reason never had a fair shake in washington, while a another poster pointed he had 3wr 1 rb all first rounders

neither of them have hit a good stride yet ... so it's kind of hard to choose . I think Harrington has had a chance to prove himself and failed miserably over and over again....

So if i had to choose .. I'd say Ramsey because he's had less chances to mess up.
