Right I'm not arguing against that at all. But when things happen mid season you just have to bite the bullet and make a move for a guy you really don't want. At least those guys would command a double team.
The Patriots lost Hernandez. But even though they still had Gronk, and Kevin Boss they went out and picked up Kellen Winslow. Revis gets hurt they go out and get Aaron Berry who is an established stop gap. So why can't they pick up an established WR like they did for the CB position? The Jets are a confusing team.
I got it! Plax, 85, and TO, with Anthony Becht as TE and Thomas Jones to spark up the running game! BuperSowl!!!!!!!!
Do you smoke crack? Do you love to type(almost 700 posts in a month)? Or are you just ignorant and stupid? Please make sense, take your meds or STFU!
You know what? After further review of the situation I've come to the conclusion no moves will be made here. They won't sign Plax or anybody else, and this season is going down in flames and nobody is going to try and salvage it within the Jets organization. Rex will probably step down as HC after the season, MT will be gone, Sanchez gone, Holmes gone, whatever... You're right, no sense trying to save things now I guess.
Excuse me, it seems they've signed somebody named "Jason Hill"... Okay, the doomed season is complete now. Please resume normal activities.
All this Plax bashing makes no sense to me. Like it or not, he's our best option at this point. The guy scored 8 TD's last year. He probably has something left in the tank. I'd rather have a has been, than a never was!
We probably don't know the reason he isn't inked, but I suspect it's for off-field reasons since 'no' team (besides Dallas, who's familiar with dysfunctional receivers) has even looked at him, when TO got a look-see, Ochostinko got a look-see and Harbaugh brought in Moss after a year off. Like him or not Plax did more than any of those guys last year, so it HAS to be something that we aren't privy to and that other teams know about as well.
First the Jets don't like him ans 2nd he would cost 925k which the Jets don't want to spend..he is a 10 year vet.
But nobody 'else' is spending the money either, that's the thing. Not everyone's up against a cap/internal budget, and a lot of teams could actually use a third receiver that's a good redzone target. If Plax was actually signed by some team I could see the hemming and hawing about passing him up but it's Week 5 and there's no indication he's going ANYwhere.
Bro please don't try to inject any logic into this discussion at this point, all it will do is get you attacked with the same "He called Mark Sanchez names!" nonsense that they've been saying since the subject of Plaxico began last spring. Basically Mr. Tannenbaum in his infinite wisdom has decided to sign another nameless "Hill" over someone who actually contributed to the team last season. Who knows, maybe somewhere Plaxico is relieved that he doesn't have to get involved with this mess right now.
Hopefully the FO doesn't sign any of these washed up old farts. Let's let Kerley, Hill, Schillenz, new Hill, and maybe a couple of other guys nobody's ever heard of play. You guys have really bought into the NYJ philosophy of the last few years: sign a big enough name and we'll win! It's my opinion that if we hadn't been making the kind of moves you guys suggest all along, we wouldn't be in this situation. i.e.: our backups would have some experience, and we'd call them "Depth".
really at this point the jets are not winning shit...at least it wouldnt seem...plax will do nothing towards changing that. the sooner we accept this season for what it is, the better of we'll be.
well said. i am sick and tired of this team not developing players. we are obviously not going anywhere this year so fuck it.throw some of these guys to the wolves and see what we have.who knows maybe wr becomes a deep position for us net year
Plax is not on any football team in the NFL because he proved with the Jets that he not only did not come out of the big house with anything resembling NFL legs, but also that he did not learn anything from his mistakes and also that he would sabotage a team he was playing for in the hopes that he would get a job with his ex-team a year later, which proved to be wrong, not only by the fact that the Giants didn't even look at him this offseason, but also by the fact that he trashed the Jets soon after the season and then went back on it later on in the offseason. Nobody wants Plax because he is done. Fucking done. But go ahead and pretend that the 8 touchdowns he had is very significant, even though three of them were in one game, which really makes his stat 5 touchdowns in 15 games. Which is pedestrian. HEY TANNY!!! SIGN THIS TURD!!!!
