It's an interesting debate. After two years I'd probably reckon to say that both have been equally horrible.

So far Mac hasn't cut any of his draft picks but if yesterday's game is any indication none of them are legit NFL starters at this point other than Williams and maybe Darron Lee.

What is really amazing is that if you take a look at almost all of our drafts in the past five years it's been:

Round 1: Defensive Player (only Williams,
    Richardson, and Lee were starters)

Round 2 Bust WR or QB

I'm hoping that whomever is running the team next year deviates from this strategy.

Why do we always have to draft a defensive player in the first round? Why can't we try to get a stud WR, RB, or QB?

    Idzik was far worse.

I can't see any any GM doing worse than Idzik's 2014 trainwreck of a draft. You'd almost have to try to do worse than that.

For those that want to immediately say Idzik's 2 drafts were MUCH worse, you better take a closer look they have a whole lot more in common they do different.

What is worse a steaming hot pile of Horse shit or a steaming hot pile of Cow shit?

    Idzik:
    1 Calvin Pryor
    2 Jace Amaro
    3 Dexter McDougle
    4 Jalen Saunders
    4 Shaq Evans

    4 Dakota Dozier
    5 Jeremiah George
    6 Brandon Dixon

    6 Quincy Enunwa
    6 IK Enemkpali
    6 Tajh Boyd
    7 Trevor Reilly

    1 Dee Milliner
    1 Sheldon Richardson
    2 Geno Smith
    3 Brian Winters
    5 Oday Aboushi
    6 William Campbell
    7 Tommy Bohanon
    ----------------------------------------------

    McCagnan:

    1 Leonard Williams
    2 Devin Smith
    3 Lorenzo Mauldin
    4 Bryce Petty

    5 Jarvis Harrison
    7 Deon Simon

    1 Darron Lee
    2 Christian Hackenberg
    3 Jordan Jenkins
    4 Juston Burris
    5 Brandon Shell
    7 Lachlan Edwards
    7 Charone Peake

    --------------------------------------------

I mean, google some of those 2013/14 draftees and see how many times you see the phrase "currently a free agent". It's not just that the picks didnt work out, it's that he pissed them away on scrubs who aren't even in football atm.

There's plenty of questionable picks in the last two drafts, but for now, MacCagnan gets an incomplete grade. Idzik was an unmitigated disaster.

Burris and Shell will have lines through them in a year or 2 like your Idzik picks.
Edwards may too, our training camp punter has looked like shit in real games.

Both hit talent wise on a run stuffing D-Lineman
Pryor and Lee are a wash -- both are starters and neither one is any good.
1 drafted a high round QB, that started 2 seasons - 1 drafted 2 QBs -- Jury out but Geno still may be the best of the 3
1 drafted Enunwa in round 6 and the other drafted Peake in round 7
Both drafted injury prone busts (D Smith and Milliner)
Winters is an unimpressive starter while Mauldin who looked ok has disappeared

Much more similar than different -- but if Jenkins and Simon can continue to grow it will tip it toward Mac

In a couple years...it looks like there may be fewer mac picks from these two drafts on the team than idzik picks

Give it 2 years Macs picks will be lined out as well, I don't even need to see Hackenberg to know he's useless, the fact the Jets drafted him sealed his fate, Williams as if right now us the only thing our current GM can hang his hat on and he was a no brainer, but he was still a terrible pick for the Jets considering the DL, was the last unit we needed to waste a pick on

I mean of course players from this years and last years drafts are going to still be on the team for the most part. With that being said, Mac did have better drafts and some of the late rounders have played better as they year went on with the exception of Edwards. People mostly hate on him for the idiotic Hack pick and the fact that Lee hasn't been that good this year.

100% agreed. Simon and Jenkins have played much better as the year went on and have been rewarded with more playing time. Mac will have to have a better draft next year if he wants to remain the GM for much longer.

Well considering Richardson is a retard, and Wilkerson doesnt give a F$#% that pick isnt so bad (and maybe why he was picked)
Hindsight's 20/20 but I really wish Snacks became a Free agent THIS season....... things probably wouldve shaken out differently
