We could use a little more veteran help at the WR pos, and I think Evans might be worth bringing in to see if he's got anything left in the tank. He can't be much worse than Schillens, Turner, and crew...
Ocho could be had on the cheap. But seriously, Evans would need to have a good workout to be considered. I think Hill and Kerley will be at 2 and 3, and Turner will do fine as well.
Lee Evans is like an used up prostitute at this point. They could give him a workout but that's all I would expect.
One word: NO Two words: HELL NO Three words: HELL FUCKING NO Four words: GOD DAMN IT, NO!! Five words: NO FUCKING WAY IN HELL Need I say more? To recap this:
evans caught like 9 passes a year ago after being expected to be a #2 receiver, and he had one of the worst drops in the biggest play of the year in the AFCCG. In addition, he just got cut by the fucking Jaguars who have what exactly at receiver? Lee Evans is done, so is Chad Johnson. If we bring in somebody it will either be via trade, or because somebody unexpected got cut at the tail end of camp.
Damn, the picking sure are slim right now. Jets are gonna be looking at other teams rosters for cuts hoping they get lucky on: TE, WR, RT, RB & maybe backup C. As for Evans, not interested. Think I might actually prefer Ocho Cinco if I was forced to choose between both of them.
This. No offense to the OP but this "Hey, maybe we should sign [insert name of washed up WR here]" stuff is driving me nuts. It was one PRESEASON game! Our #1 WR didn't even play. Are people really that scared of letting some of the young guys go through a few growing pains? One major problem that the Jets have had which most people can agree on is the inconsistency at WR since Sanchez became the starting QB. If they continue signing older guys at the end of their careers the cycle will continue and this offense will never get on track. Signing another aging vet at WR would be one of the worst moves they could make right now.
He has a ton of experience playing with Sanchez all the way back to College. He has size and is capable of being a #3 in my opinion at least.
I'm in the Turner camp as well. He has chemistry with Sanchez and he showed flashes down the stretch last season.
I dont get why people are having panic attacks over our wr core. It just looks bad now due to some minor injuries. First priority is to stop fucking with sanchez and just let him get use to his guys. We cant keep using 1 year fillers. There are multiple examples of half decent and shitty wr's having good years just simply due to the timing and connection they have with their QB's. Let it go and stop posting a new thread everytime you think of a washed up wr that someone else cut.
