    Gm 1: W 5-4
    Gm 2: L 3-2
    Gm 3: Garcia vs Price
    Gm 4: Sabathia vs Shields

Tough loss last night, but a bounce-back start by Colon is reassuring.

Freddy is pretty good against non-AL East teams and Tampa.

2-0 heading Bottom 7. Let's see if we can get it right this time.

How's this for a crazy stat: tonight is the 698th straight game in which the Rays have started a pitcher younger than 30.

Tough dribbler there for Eddie but he's gotta make that play. Kid's got potential but a long way to go defensively.

Big two-run hit for him offensively, though.

Just another way he's not like Jeter. I recommend castration.

Here's a fun and interactive topic to discuss: What do YOU think the lineup should be?

    Gardner
    Swisher
    Granderson
    Tex
    Cano
    Posada/Jones
    Jeter
    Martin
    Nunez

    Anyone? Anyone?

    Gardner
    Swisher
    Granderson
    Tex
    Cano
    Montero
    Laird
    Nunez
    Martin

Of course, that'd make too much sense though.

    Last one makes more sense.

Gardner should be leading off, Posada and Andruw Jones shouldn't be playing, and Jeter should be on the bench. Teixeira cleanup, and Cano/Granderson should be 3rd or 5th, in whichever order.

Pena back in after he recovers from the appendectomy. I think I'd put Laird 9th.

My ideal lineup (when A-Rod returns):

    vs LHP
    Gardner
    Swisher
    Granderson
    Teixeira
    A-Rod
    Cano
    Jeter
    Montero
    Martin

    vs RHP
    Gardner
    Swisher
    Granderson
    Teixeira
    A-Rod
    Cano
    Montero
    Martin
    Nunez

Agreed. I assembled with the parts we're currently using.... If I had control of the team, everyone was healthy, and could ignore the "corporate" bullshit:

    Gardner
    Swisher
    Granderson
    ARod
    Tex
    Cano
    Montero
    Martin
    Nunez

I was talking about the lineup with guys currently available.

A-Rod of course back in the lineup when he returns, but that's a ways off.

You say if you could ignore the corporate stuff, but that is what keeps Jeter in the lineup and also what keeps Jeter leading off. It goes hand in hand, it seems. With Jeter stuck there and the Yankees dead set against moving him, there's not a lot you can do here.

I just heard that Gardner is leading off tonight. Granderson getting a rest, so that leaves the #2 spot open, and apparently it's allowed to bat Jeter second (where he's batted most of his career).

    Gardner CF
    Jeter SS
    Teixeira 1B
    Cano 2B
    Swisher RF
    Posada DH
    Martin C
    Nunez 3B
    Dickerson LF

So Jeter's ground outs to short will be double plays instead. Kewl.

I was thinking that as well.

No safe place to put him these days.
