Oh yeah he sucks at managing bullpens. This good move just shone very brightly because it contrasted Randolph's terrible one.
I worry about Villone handling the extremely long inning after only pitching one batter in the last frame. If the Mets are gonna get back in it right now is gonna be their best chance.
Again though...This bullpen is going to get eaten...Let Beam pitch a few, although a 5-run lead with this middle relief isn't exactly comfortable.

Here's the difference between Torre and Willie. Torre managed to win tonight. Willie has to do that and not worry about tomorrow, Oliver has been lights out in games like this, but Willie needs him to start tomorrow so he doesn't use him today. First try to win the game today and don't worry about tomorrow, cross that bridge when you come to it.
