Cashman and Girardi need to take a big hit if Joba doesnt start in the ALCS.
All this crap about the Joba Rules. He is over his innings but we will still start him but only let him pitch 2 or 3 innings.
They mess with his innings, and psyche and now wont let him start because his head wasnt where it was supposed to be which led to a poor second half.
All they needed to do was leave the guy alone and let him pitch but they couldnt do that.
Its one thing to say that Joba would be more valuable to the bullpen during the playoffs, but they didnt.

Obviously that was a bit over the top however you can't deny for a second that you were in complete agreement with everything Cashman did all year. Now look at where it has left the Yankees and Chamberlain himself.

1- Yep, means nothing as I expect one or both of them will end up being traded.

2- What does any of that have to do with Chamberlain?

Surprise, surprise. Don misrepresents my position again. I'll tell you what I told you before.

I wasn't "in complete agreement" with everything Cashman did. But there's a whole lotta room between being in complete agreement and thinking he's a total fool, as you do.

They did the best they could. It wasn't ideal. It didn't work out (for whatever reason). They could have let him pitch it out, and then risked blowing out his arm next year. They could have shut him down and not had him at all. They could have let him pitch all year in the minors. They chose a course that they hoped would help the team the most while still limiting his innings. It didn't work out so great, but given the other options, I don't have a problem with it.

They should just shut him down now. 160 IP is enough for this year, and I trust Bruney enough to fill in the the spot he vacates. We have enough bullpen arms that it should not matter.

You said that the Yankees made the playoffs in spite of Cashman, not because of him. I listed points to support my strong disagreement with that statement.

FWIW, I did say Joba would probably pitch out of the pen in the playoffs. That doesn't mean squat in terms of his future. He'll start next year, and if he pitches another few innings this postseason, he'll probably start all next year. What they're doing right now is the best for the team. They're putting their best 3 on the mound, which is what I said they should do.

Anyway, on to tonight. I despise Carla Pavano. And I only say that because I reserve the "h" word for terrorists and child molesters. What a complete asshole and piece of shit. F'n cumbucket.

Swisher definitely wasn't an arithmetic major...that was pretty funny.

Chip Caray and Ron Darling make me long for Miller/Morgan and Buck/McCarver. Of course, I should get my wish for one of those, and it's not comforting.

I will forever despise Janet Jackson.

Andy has thrown a lot of perfect innings this year. I look forward to Andy in 2010.

Two straight games Swisher plays really well in right field. I don't like him, but I like that.

Nick Swisher is one of the most frustrating people I've ever watched hit for the Yankees.

How much will Twins fans complain about that ball being called fair?
