I read today that Fox has made the Jets vs Aaron the unvaccinated whining lying weasel the Fox game of the week for this week. Obviously people are starting to notice this Jets team and starting to take them a bit more seriously for the first time in eons. See (Robert Salesman), there are no receipts. There is no bluster needed. There is no BS needed either. They are winning. They have beaten the (always) over rated darlings of the NFL (Dolphins), have won 2 in a row, and finally have some potentially legitimate NFL star power on their roster. There is no magic respect elixir. There is no respect fairy. There is no spewage of propaganda from Florham Park that will generate respect. As I have been bloviating forever here and everywhere, just win football games. The respect and adulation will follow. It's guaranteed. Personally, before I dive all the way back in head first, I need to see more - especially from this CS, but we are looking as though we may actually be on the right path - finally. A win this Sunday would go a long way towards affirming this, as well as erasing the negativity that always seems to follow this organization wherever they go, or whatever they do. Just please don't go out to GB thinking you are the greatest team ever and get obliterated 35-10 (or worse). That would bring back all of the negativity we've suffered through forever as Jet fans. I want to stomp the weasel, but would not be upset losing a game in GB 27-24, or 17-14 etc. Just be competitive, and show that you are a legitimate NFL team and belong on the same field as GB.
I expect them to remain humble, play with a chip on their shoulder, be competitive and play a smart, tough game. Show Fox we belong in the conversation. That is all I can hope for.It will be a huge challenge no doubt, going to Lambeau and play a wounded tiger, but that is the name of the game. Now more than ever we need the D front four to be stout against the run and effective with the rush to make AR uncomfortable. I think our secondary is much looking forward to the challenge. Hope Reed and Sauce have their best game yet.
