Mike DeVito back at practice, signs contract extension

Admin - September 9, 2009

DE Mike DeVito was back at practice this morning, as the Jets were preparing for the season opener against the Houston Texans. DeVito, who's nursing a hamstring injury, is expected to start against Houston in place of suspended DE Shaun Ellis.

Additionally, we've learned that DeVito, an undrafted free agent from Maine, recently signed a 3-year contract extension with the Gang Green. DeVito is now signed through 2012 and will receive the following base salaries: $460,000 in 2009, $1.04M in 2010, $1.475M in 2011 and $1.31M in 2012.

Mike DeVito, 25, played in all 16 games last season, recording 24 tackles (15 solo) and 0.5 sacks.
