Injuries

Friday injury update

Admin - September 25, 2009

The New York Jets injury report keeps filling up, as the team now has 14 players on the list. Both CB Lito Sheppard and CB Donald Strickland did not practice again this morning. Neither player has practiced this week at all. Strickland has been basically ruled out for Sunday's game against the Titans, while it looks like the availability of Sheppard will be a game time decision. Even if Sheppard plays, it's doubtful that he'll be able to start and play on most downs. CB Dwight Lowery, who started 10 games in his rookie season last year, would start and CB Drew Coleman would play the nickel.

QB Mark Sanchez was added to the injury report yesterday with some tendinitis in his right knee that isn't expected to affect his availability for this weekend's game. He practiced this morning and did not wear a knee sleeve.

In addition to the above mentioned players, rookie OG Matt Slauson has an ankle injury and is listed as questionable. Slauson was inactive for the first two games this season.

QB Kellen Clemens (right elbow), DT Kris Jenkins (back), S Jim Leonhard (knee), CB Dwight Lowery (ankle), C Nick Mangold (toes), DT Sione Pouha (ankle), LB Bryan Thomas (ankle), LB Jamaal Westerman (quadricep), OT Damien Woody (shoulder), WR Wallace Wright (hamstring) are all listed as probable.

The final injury report will be out later today.
