Jets land Burress, Heap comes to visit

Admin - July 31, 2011

The New York Jets signed WR Plaxico Burress who spent last two years in jail and hasn't played since 2008. It's a 1-year deal worth $3,017,000. Burress will turn 34 next month and it's a big question whether he can regain his form of 2007 when he scored 12 touchdowns for the Giants. This obviously means that WR Braylon Edwards will not be back with the Gang Green.

TE Todd Heap, an 11-year veteran who spent his entire career with the Baltimore Ravens, came to visit the Jets this morning and it's a possibility that he will be signed soon. Even though Heap is 31 he still has plenty in his tank (40 receptions in 13 games last season) and pairing him with TE Dustin Keller would add a different dimension to the Jets' passing attack.
