The New York Jets placed RB Mike Goodson and WR/KR Clyde Gates on injured reserve as both suffered season-ending injuries against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Goodson, who missed the first four games due to a suspension, tore both ACL and MCL. Gates suffered a shoulder injury.

The Gang Green signed WR/KR Josh Cribbs to replace Gates as the primary kickoff returner. He hasn't played a game this season after having left knee surgery in the offseason. Cribbs went to training camp with the Oakland Raiders, but was cut before the start of regular season. During his illustrious career with the Cleveland Browns, Cribbs amassed 2,154 punt return yards and 3 TDs, while recording 10,015 yards and 8 TDs on kickoff returns.

The Jets also signed WR Greg Salas off the Eagles' practice squad. Salas, a 3-year veteran, played in 2011 for the Rams where he caught 27 passes for 264 yards. Additionally, the Gang Green signed RB Miguel Maysonet to their practice squad and released LB Troy Davis from the practice squad.
