http://nypost.com/2014/07/30/demario-davis-blasts-chatty-jets-work-habits/ Is this better for the ones that don't like the jets talking
He's likely spot on, but at the same time, I think he should just keep his mouth shut it he feels that way. He's been in the league 2 years and has not earned the right to tell veteran players to be quiet. Not to mention, you create controversy when you are publicly disagreeing with teammates. I don't like the move.
Oh fuck yeah. Not that I hate the trash talk, but this dude has been growing on me. Leadership, mofo.
so a team leader challenging his teammates to work hard creates controversy, upsets veterans and should keep quiet. But a 2nd year cornerback calling himself the best corner in the league after a rookie year where he was one of the team's weaknesses is okay?
been hearing about his leadership and potential for a couple years. Finally starting to see it unfold, which is great for the team. keep it coming Davis!
He didn't call anyone out, or say anything to rock the boat of team harmony. He did however give everyone a reminder of what it takes to be the best. And he delivered that message in a clever way, leveraging the media to spread the message for him. And he's right, i think they may have needed that reminder. That's called leadership right there. Making sure the boat stays on the proper course.
I never referenced Milliner once in my post and I think he is a moron to state he is the best corner in the NFL. Like I said, Davis is spot on likely and is 100% correct, but I think you should keep that stuff internal. Why go out in the media and just feed this idiots more shit to create controversy? What's the purpose of making those statements public? A leader doesn't make a public thing out of it, he goes out on the field and shows it with his play and with his attitude in the locker room.
A team leader just went out and made the Jets shit-talkers accountable to the team, not just let them flap their gums to the fans and media. It's team accountability, and it is fucking awesome. If you don't get that, I'm guessing you never played a down of football in your life.
Chris Lopresti @CLoprestiWFAN 1m Demario just talked about how much they learned from Ed Reed last year. Said he's trusting his film study more. #NYJ Love this.
He's had a good camp. This is the year he could make a big jump on the field. If he turns into a pro-bowl caliber LB, wow that front 7 will be great
Davis may actually be a hero to the beat writers, as unlikely as it seems. Writers love a vocal leader, somebody that demands accountability. Couple this with the way he has been playing in camp, I think this is going to be a good thing.
Love it. Hope we will see more of this from serious guys like Davis and Wilkerson. Rex might be good in certain ways as a motivator and all that, and some players might need a shot of confidence from time to time, but overall, I think his teams need a reality check every few months, and it's better if it comes from Davis than from a regular season blow-out.
Exactly my point. It's completely false, but why give these idiots any sort of fuel to start that bullshit? As for Davis, he might be in the making of becoming an absolute stud. Rex has been praising the shit out of him and I was just reading another article about how great he looks so far in camp. I'm so excited for this kids potential!!!
I think Rex's comments about Davis having some of the leadership qualities of Ray Lewis are starting to show they have some truth to them. Gotta love this guy, especially the way he's come on in camp. _
