Are you referring to this season? Because reading your comment, it seems like it is. This is about last year. 1) Pryor was seemingly the most important player on D last year. Bowles put him in the right situation to succeed. He regressed this year however. 2) Sheldon did more LB this year then last year. Mo however had a really good year rushing the passer inside and out, he had his best year as a Jet. Every lineman gets shots at getting to the QB, can't say the same for Rex's D for certain players. Players were held accountable last year. 3) We did not have the worst turnover rate in football last year. Bowles biggest mistake this year was not benching Fitz after the KC game. That did not go well in the locker room, and I bet you Sheldon wanted Geno out there instead of Fitz, while Marshall fought for Fitz. The accountability was lost after that game. Only so much a HC can do after that, he made the wrong call, but I still think Bowles can be a good coach, but he needs to really learn from what went wrong this year. Gotta cleanse out the bad players too that make too much dough.
are you just throwing out 2016 like Bowles wasn't here? it happened, and we have a complete 2 years of information which disputes all of your claims of positive attributes. and #1 is #2 is still incorrect.
2016 wasn't in the discussion. Someone asked me 3 things Bowles did as a HC and I named them. I just rebuked your statement above. As far as I am concerned my points have validity. Was Pryor not one of the most important players on defense last year, how did the D look when he was out? People were missing him on this board. Feel free to tell me how many snaps Sheldon saw at OLB this yr vs last yr. Now, I could be wrong simply because Jenkins got a lot of PT late in the yr, but I think that's the only factor you got going against you unless you can prove me otherwise.
dont worry they will go 9-7 with a free agent qb and have a few good moments and fool everyone into thinking that everything is ok, extend mac and bowels and we will suck for the next 5 years. welcome to the insanity. i wonder these days if woodrow will find love in london and try to move the team there. which you know damn well goody would love to see. fuck this team.
How is 2016 not in the discussion of Bowles? because it isn't convenient to your argument? we have 2 full years of information to determine what positives he brings to the table. and Pryor was so overrated on this board in 2015....it means nothing. He took terrible angles and still couldn't cover, and yes i was on here stating as much. Bowles asked him to cover a little more this season, and to even play some FS, and he was just exposed further. guy is nothing more than a dime a dozen SS wtih a poor work ethic. Richardson played OLB both seasons, so that point is not valid in either year, not to mention Richardson has completely checked out on this coach. you are actually citing 2 players I want off the team asap as success stories. After watching him for 2 seasons, i still can't identify any positives Bowles brings to the table. That was the point of the OP, and i fully agree with him.
Thanks for the support I had posted previously that m McCoy could enter here as OC and maybe backdoor his way to becoming our HC However upon my further review he has a winning record of 0f 400 something with a smattering of Charger playoff appearance Is this a guy we want as OC?? I dunno... The way I see it Bowles will come up with some trash hire..you watch
About 2016, you would have to ask the person that asked me the question. We do have 2 full years of information and it's as inconsistent as ever. I thought Bowles did a good job his rookie year and an awful job is 2nd year. I saw some good his first year, not much really to see this year due to all of the issues. I am giving him another year to see what transpires. Pryor wasn't overrated last year, he was a valuable key to the defense. He forced turnovers, he helped out in run support, and he brought the boom. This year he was dogshit, but don't let that distract you from the fact that he was a good player last year. The angles were fine last year. I was asking you how many reps Richardson took his first yr w/ Bowles in comparison to his 2nd year with Bowles. To be honest, Richardson is the most overrated player on the team and I could really care less what he does on the field as long as it's not drawing penalties. He was overrated from the get-go. I am sure he had plenty of shots to rush the passer and amassed an amazing 6 sacks in 2 seasons. Mo and Big Cat both have had better seasons under Bowles. I saw some good, and I saw some bad. I want to see what happens this year, will he improve. I'll tell you what needs to happen, players need to get their asses back into good shape that's the first thing that needs to happen. Purge the roster of cancerous players will be on that list too.
