Seymour probably out and the inevitable injury to Harrison when he gets hurt cheap shotting a WR the Pats become a much less impossing team.

    I didn't see anything..

We certainly aren't going to hear from BB that Seymour is out until he actually puts him on the PUP list. Harrison's last healthy season was 04. From my understanding an unkown player on the Pats refered to Harrison as an egg back there.

  5. Truthfully the Pats defense doesn't scare me. They obviously have a great front 3 that can dominate..and thomas will be a great addition for the LB corps...but looking at their back 7...it's decent...but far from dominant.

The question will be if anyone can stop their offense.

I can't speak on Harrison's egg theory.. All I know is that he's healthy up to this point..

Point : You know, we did actually beat the Pats once last year in glorifying fashion; even with last year's team. We should be better this year.

Even if we were having the most kick-ass pre-season ever, we should still be very worried about the Pats. They are a damn good football team.

In years past, if you look at the games, we usually always play the Pats tough. A fair amount of our losses are when we made some stupid mistake at a very inopportune time on the game which switched the score and the momentum away from us; and with NE getting it back is just plain as tough as it gets.

If you look at nearly all of our wins against the Pats; we had to play perfect or near perfect football to win. We are not good enough to absorb key errors in the game and recover.

I don't know where you guys get this slow decline B.S. - the Patriots, in actuality, are getting YOUNGER and more athletic. Seymour and Warren haven't played the last two weeks - and obviously Asante hasn't - Seau didn't play in Carolina, and this D has been dominant. The idea that the Pats back 7 doesn't scare you - um...okay. I wouldn't bank on that, though.

I agree with whichever Pat fan said that the jets generally play us close and tough. I doubt it'll be a total blow-out, but I'm honestly not sure. This team is EASILY the best - on paper, for what it's worth - of the Belichick era. The best and the deepest. We'll see how it goes on 9/9.

Brady 3 INT's in 9 playoff games, 3 SB with Weiss calling the plays. 6 Int's in 5 playoff games since he left, no SB's. Most reliable players on the SB teams, Brown and Branch gone.

The Pats won with smarts. They may be getting more athletic, but they aren't getting smarter and it shows in the big games. BB has lost to much staff and Brady isn't as clutch in the big games as he was with Weiss making the calls. Once Harrison goes down, which he usually does, the secondary is weak. The Pats have the most talented team in football and haven't gotten it done 2 years in a row against good but not great teams. They are no longer a clutch team, to many of those guys are gone and Brady is coming back to the pack.

i truly would like to beleive this dribble above, but it's blind wishful thinking, more than anything else.. even joe montana didn't win the superbowl every season with a talented team(basically the same talent he had won super bowls with previously). brady can't do it himself, an if you look at how far he took them last year with garbage recievers and was 3 td's up at half time, i'd say he's the same old brady from what i've seen. would love to have him on the jets, thats for sure!!!

your stats above also don't account for all the injuries they have had over those years, while we had the perfect injury free season last year. had the pats had harrison for the afc championship game, i think they win that game and the superbowl also.

i'm laughing at myself right now, sticking up for the f**king patsies, but they are what they are, a serious contender every year. what i'd give to see it that way for the jets!!!

Harrison will not make it through the year he is an egg who will put himself out. People underestimate just how good guys like Roman Phifer and Willie McGinest were on that D and Brady while still excellent is not the clutch performer he was under Weiss.

i don't think anyone could sustain the winning streak brady had going. not a single qb in all the history of the game could have either. to have done what he did and is continuing to do presently, says a lot about the kind of qb he is. people make it out his defense won all the superbowls, or he only won them by 3 points. the fact is, he could have blown every one of the games that he won on the final drive's with the SUPERBOWL on the line. how many qb's in this league, past or present can you say that about(under the pressure of the superbowl). certainly not penny, thats for dam sure.

Look at how Vinny did in 98, guess who was the OC and he also had a great QB coach. Brady is excellent but he is not the same guy he was under Weiss. He also doesn't have the same clutch talent around him. Troy Brown was one of the smartest and real clutch performers on that team. Branch was another go to guy in the big spots. Willie McGinist and Phifer were absolute beasts on that D. Their LB are getting old, they lack real speed in the secondary and with Seymour a question mark and a completely revamped coaching staff this simple isn't the same team that won those SB. Are they good, real good, but they are in decline. By the way who is going to carry the ball for them consistenly?

i guess in the end, we'll agree to disagree. but, at the end of this season, i think i'll get back to you on your points about brady.

this year that team is stacked and i think they go all the way....

Even if Rodney Harrison goes down, The Pats safeties are still pretty decent this year, especially with Merriman, who is looking pretty good.

If Harrison goes down, within 2 games, the defense will be in full stride again.

I agree that Harrison is a leader on the D, but I think you overestimate how irreplaceable he is this year...much less so than in years past.
