not worried, we had beat the Fins 8 in a row at one point, now were back to even. Franchises have ups and downs, enjoy the games.
If the Pats are as bad as they have looked for 9 of their 12 quarters this season we won't have to beat them. They've got 8-8 or 9-7 written all over them right now. Losing Branch probably cut off their trip past the wild-card weekend this year. It might even have knocked them out of the playoffs altogether.
We are actually tied for first. Yes, we did not beat the Pats. I think we gave them some knocks though - they lost yesterday and looked a little out of gas. Things come in steps. All in all, I am quite satisfied and happy we are as competitive as we are this year. Let's take it one week at a time. We'll count up the W's and L's and the end of the year and go from there.
Pats have not looked good, but I would say that Denver is better than Tennessee. Both beat Buffalo and we lost to NE. I'm not sure what I'm getting at with that, just commenting on what I read I suppose. Jets will get over the hump of not beating NE by the end of the year when we do it in their house. New England is a bunch of players that have been together for 5 years and their chemistry is there. The Jets have a new defense, a DE moved to LB, no DT for a 3-4, a new corner and 4 new offensive lineman. After these Indy/Jax games which I see us losing both of, we have the creamiest creampuff schedule and the team is really going to start to gell at that point. Look for the running game to start to open up along with the run defense and by the time we play NE next, we'll be clicking on all cylinders and they will be no better than when we played them in week 2 and we will take them down!
As much as the thread makes sense...come on guys. Two things are for certain. 1. The Jets are not in the same class as the Pats yet. Why some may ask?..the Patriots look extremely vunerable. True. They also beat us on our turf this year. 2. The Patriots are slowly...very slowy...becoming victims of the new and improved? NFL. You cant stay on top forever...and only because they have the greatest WINNING qb of the new century..they have been able to stay afloat. With that said..yes Mr Dorrow...you are correct...100% on the money...but who is surprised by this...the third week of the 1st season of the new regime.
Actually, we can still lose to the Pats twice and still win the division, and then maybe some other team can beat them. The Broncos seem to have their number, then we can just beat the Broncos. Of course, this is all looking pretty far ahead. We're not good enough to be worrying about this, and when we get better, maybe we beat the Patriots so it doesn't matter. We're getting closer. This is week 3 of a rebuilding process. We were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the league. When I suggested 8-8 earlier, people shouted me down. I said 10-6 was a possiblity, and people thought I was dreaming. I said if we get good, maybe we can go 12-4, and some of you guys were ready to ship me off to the looney bin. Let's not suddenly pretend we need to be better than 8-8. We're on schedule. We're probably going to lose the next 2. Get ready for the downs.
