Every team who is not playing right now is probably looking at these types of guys. As a front office you always have to be on the lookout. Every team does it (or should anyway). The mistake the Jets made last year was that they never went beyond trying to find that diamond in the rough. We'll have to see if they repeat that mistake in March. It doesn't mean they should stop trying it means that they should try other methods of acquiring players along with it.

A lot of 3-4 teams like to put a safety in the box and Bing is the kind of guy we'd probably do that with. Maybe he brings more to the table as a coverage guy than Abram Elam? I don't know, but it's clear to me that Eric Smith is a backup and Kerry Rhodes needs some help back there.

As a USC fan, I am very familiar with Bing. He was a monster at USC, but I always had fears he was just a step slow or a pund light for the NFL. If he can revive his USC days, he'll be a great pickup.

As for Daniels, I'll take anybody for OG camp fodder at this point.

Are we talking about Bing... The kid from USC? If so... WOW, this kid has HUGE potential... If he can get back to 100% I would say drafting a safety is not an issue as of right now... Wow

I'm sure 49ers fans were thinking the same thing last offseason. If he ends up doing anything other than STs for us next year, I will be very surprised.

If he stays healthy, which is a big if and the only reason he was available, he'll make the team and see the field on defense as well. Maybe not starting safety material, but rotating with Rhodes, Smith, Elam, and Coleman would be a nice addition.

After all of these years, 'If he stays healthy' is becoming a profane foursome of words for me. I know he is young and cheap, so I get you with the upside, but I'm not getting my hopes up for a guy that hasn't played a live snap yet after 2 seasons and 2 teams.

Actually, according to RaiderJoe there are 45 Raiders on their roster that are the "next big thing". In reality the next Raider "big thing" gets thrust in and out of his mouth, so take what he says with a grain of salt.

You're giving Al Davis a little too much weiner credit there, Puck. It had to have shriveled by now.

LOL, Shouldn't his depends keep the moisture away from his skin and thus negate some of the shriveling?
