Then those plays weren't "neighborhood" calls and there would be no debate in the first place. There are plenty of similar plays and it is very rare indeed that the middle infielder doesn't get the call. The precedent for that type of play has been set again and again.
He was like a foot away from the bag. Now maybe he'll get in harm's way next time. Like a real SS. ha And the play did not determine the outcome of this game. Old man winter might though.
This is exactly what I said to someone else. You might allow an extra step off the dribble... but they'll call a pivot foot moving, if they see it.
I stand corrected. 4 great pitches for Marte. Hopefully Girardi gets some length out of Robertson, because the bullpen's starting to get awful thin. Chad Gaudin in extra innings in the ALCS is my nightmare.
