I am very, very confident going into tonight. These Yankees have a real killer instinct--they play loose and confident, and thus are exactly the kind of team that doesn't collapse. Plus, aside from the 2001 World Series Pettitte has been one helluva big game pitcher. Especially on the heels of a loss Andy knows how to slam the door. Let's get it done!
The guys on the FOX pregame were arguing for CC tonight. Mark Grace made the point that Pettitte has twice been in this situation (up 3-2 with a Game 6 start) and he's been terrible both times, including once against Arizona. It's an interesting statistic (I forget the ERA, but it was like 12), but I would tend to chalk it up to coincidence. Not that you could ever really have such a statistic where you would have a large enough sample size to draw a conclusion.
This is just amazing. Worst baserunning I've ever seen. Abreu, Hunter, Guerrero, etc. The guy is right there and you can see him drifting under the popup, and you're halfway to second?
