Which is exactly why he is ridiculously overpaid, no matter how good he is. No CB is worth anywhere near the money Revis is paid because he can only cover one player. Trading Revis is one of the best moves the Jets have made over the past few years. It frees up money and changers the philosophy of then defense to a more effective emphasis on the front seven. Revis is now in football purgatory.
I don't have any personal feeling about him one way or the other, but if these two games don't convince people that the Jets made the right decision in not re-signing him I don't know what will. A cornerback is simply too easy to avoid to be worth $16 million a year in a salary cap league. The only guys who are worth the money are QBs, pass rushers, and maybe elite wide receivers (and maybe the very best left tackle?).
Rodney Harrison: "I'm not worried about the Giants - every year we see this - they start slowly and then get better." Giants record in September under Coughlin: 18-11. Giants record in December/January (regular season) under Coughlin: 20-23.
Harrison's got a myopic memory...they DID start 0-2 the year they punked his perfect season in the SuperBowl.
I heard him say that and I was literally just shaking my head. The Giants have a tendency to start good and end up slow, complete opposite of what he was trying to claim.
Not many people saying much about Miami's performane??? I caught a few bits and pieces of the game, and from what I saw, they will give us one hell of a game. Offensively they look pretty good, Tannenhill is a beast!
Miami played very well, the whole AFC east looks much better this year than it has in the past. Sent from my HTCEVODesign4G using Tapatalk 2
Yeah, I didn't get people writing Tannehill off after 2012, he was a rookie and played himself out of some tight spots and proved to be a solid passer, even on the run. Pissed me off.
They won the Super Bowl in 2007 after starting 0-2. They also dropped the opener in 2011. Perhaps that is what he meant.
