They both have played well so far but hit a bump yesterday. That will happen with rookies/young players. I expect Membou at least to have a much better game this week…
Probably a good sign that a rookie tackle had a bad game in week 13 and we’re like wow he had a bad game.
Id like them to go 8-9 or 9-8 this season after a regime change and sucking for 15 years, I'm not expanding it past that. If they become middling for a few seasons sure let's cross that bridge of getting frustrated It doesn't matter. But to think the jets are going to go from even a top 3 pick to the playoffs in a year, after sucking picking high draft picks for a large part of 15 years, is hard logic for me to understand. Unhappyjetsfan argument is pointless because he's comparing wanting to win this year to that means I wanted them to win a meaningless week 17 game to lose draft position. It's not the same and if we can't see the nuance I can't help much.
This is where I'm at. Hey, if he falls to the Jets then, great. You pick him up, didn't cost anything but the pick itself and you have the rest of the draft to add more talent to help the rookie. If I'm wrong and he turns out to be good, I'll be the first to say so. If not, you didn't burn the farm to get him and you take another swing. The only thing I hope, if they do get him/someone, is he's either soooooo bad that you can take that swing in 2027 or he looks good enough that it's worth developing him over 3-4 years. Kind of an unrealistic stance but, hey, if anyone didn't know Johnny Manziel wasn't going to amount to shit by the end of the first year, they were watching the games with their eyes closed. lol Mind you, not comparing the two just making the point that sometimes you can just tell, immediately, a player isn't going to amount to shit. You know, like "Bonehead Corley."
If Membou is ever gonna develop into an perennial all-pro, he'll learn from games like this and get better. That goes for any of our rooks out there playing their first real NFL games. They're gonna shit the bed but its how they comeback from it that defines them.
It was the Jets trying to perform same ole' Jets things by snatching defeat from the jaws of victory! BOTH teams really worked hard at not winning that game. Thankfully, the Falcons were more Jets like than the Jets. LOL!
