Moore is my one and only selection at QB at this junction, just based on my eye test on the few games I watched him play, but I’m not willing to trade up that much for two picks. I’m hoping Cleveland screws the pick. Having said that, many here were talking about trading up for Mendoza, so I don’t understand the eagerness to trade up when you seemingly migh have two choices . Time will tell how it all shakes down.
I don’t think Moore declares. If he does he could be top 10. But I don’t think he does And as such I don’t think the remaining QBs in the draft will be top 10 picks. Something like Mendoza in the teens, Sellers 20s/30s (if he declares) and Simpson 2nd/3rd round that’s why the tanking talk here is so stupid. What are we going to tank for a safety? lol. If they want one of these QBs they can easily get him
Love it. There is no quitting with this team. This young group of players need to continue to grow together and get a taste of what it takes to win. It would be lovely you spank the fish.
Sellers made around $3M in NIL money this year. Word is he turned down a larger offer to stay at SC. He has the athleticism to be a #1 pick (or at least top 5). I'd bet the farm on him staying for another year, but I'm not so sure it will be at SC.
Boy, he did look slow in that Bama game. Seemed like he was way overly mindful of his position responsibilities & didn't rely on any instincts. Lot of games left, but I just get the feeling that we'll end up with at least 5 wins & be somewhere 7-10 out of position to get Rueben Bain Jr. Arvell Reese could be gone as well. What I did see that I really liked from Keldric Faulk was him using his length to completely walk OT Kadyn Proctor backwards into Ty Simpson on a few occasions. Not that I'm so impressed w/Proctor - but he is a big man projected 1st round OT. I'd just like to see us get more size & strength at the DE position. I'd like to see us keep JJohnson. I wanted us to keep Bryce Huff, quite frankly. Side note = I'd sure like to hear your thoughts on what to do if we end up 7-10 & Caleb Downs is there.
He’s a classic 3-4 5technique defensive end I think. Problem is that teams don’t really play a 3-4 any more. He could play strong side end against the tightend but I don’t think he’s an impactful enough player to take in the top ten. On your scenario, you take Downs and don’t worry about it. He might be the best player in the country. I’d also entertain Carnell Tate. People like Tyson but he has a scary injury history. Tate is the most well rounded receiver in the draft in my opinion. He can win deep, he’s the best route runner in the class and he catches everything. His numbers don’t pop as much because Jeremiah Smith is on the other side. His touchdown route against Michigan was a thing of beauty.
You think that way because he really IS a classic 3-4 5technique defensive end. I'm just desperate to find a Greg Rousseau type player for the NYJ.
I have a friend really pushing the idea of trading down and taking Mauigoa from Miami. I’m generally against taking guards high unless they’re elite players and he really is an absolute monster in the class of Zach Martin or Quenton Nelson. You could entertain kicking Membou inside if you feel Mauigoa is a better tackle. Wouldn’t hate having a wall of an offensive line.
