I have to hope that the coaching staff knows enough to evaluate itself every week, and make some adjustments. The media will show Mangini no mercy this week.

Actually, maybe this loss was a good thing. Maybe it will force the coaching staff to realize that they need to open things up. If they had won with this game plan, they probably would have stuck with it. At least this way they can see it won't work. In the long run it might make you win more games.

Perhaps the media will change Mangini the way they changed Coughlin... now thats too much optimism.

Tee, the only thing that makes me smile here is when I think of all the GOLD that would flow from Herm's piehole tomorrow morning if he were still coaching here. Something like:

"I told the team there'd be no cryin' here. My grandmother used to tell me 'you save your cryin' for the important stuff.' We're talking about one game here. We got plenty of football left to play. Now, if I get a letter from the Commissioner's office this week telling me that the season's only going to be two games this year, then we got a problem. We got a real problem then. But until I get a letter like that, the New York Jets are going to keep playing football. Any other questions?"

  5. Oh come on....you gotta throw acouple "Obviously's" In there.

or run three times in a row when you have a first down at the Pats 4-yard line and one of the best QBs ever

Heh. I'm out of practice. I miss Herm so. Not his coaching, mind you. But his press conferences complete me.

We should have went for the 4th and 2 on th first drive. They're still the Patriots and you still have to go for the jugular.

I'm thinking the exact same thing Tee. This is complete bullshit. I wonder if its a coincidence that both of our coordinators have the initials "BS".

If I'm Farve, I'm counting the days until I can get the fck outta gotham and leave Mangenius to his gumchewing. I'm beginning to hate that sight almost as much as Herm's hand clapping.

Fatboy needs to grow a pair PDQ. They conned Woody out of alot of money so inspite of public statements, some ROI is due here or this CS needs to seriously get the fisheye from the Owner.

I hope they get it from all quarters of the NY media too..:mad:

1st let me say, that is a sig quote right there! :rofl2:

While we are still perking from the game we can easily chalk this one up to the fact that we must crawl before we can walk.

While we were all believing we are there already, there was no proof that we are actually there.
We have the Barometer and we can see that we aren't there.

That said, It's in our grasp and It boils down to adjustments for the CS. If none are made I'll be right there with you waiting to spike the hubba bubba stash..

And then not go for it on 4th and 2. Goddamn I hate watching conservative coaches blow games. Parcells takes the team that was on the field today and beats the Pats. Mangini and Herm both lose.

In defense of the coaching staff, three chances to score within the three yard-line and failing is pretty sad. The players need to execute.

I have no problem with the first two runs, but on third down, I throw it. Then if it's incomplete, then I definitely go for it on fourth down. From the 3 or 4 yard-line, it's hard to go for it that early.

1st down should be PA, I mean 1st and goal PA is almost impossible to defend... then if you score there with a 1st and down PA, next time you are down there you can run and won't get the same level of commitment because they have to respect the pass.

When you go there and run 3 times in a row and get stuffed, next time they will expect the pass and will be ready for that also. It's just very odd. We do NOT have a pounder at HB plain and simple. Lamont Jordan would've actually been a good player for that purpose alone. The Pats don't seem to mind getting a role player at HB... I have no doubt that they will spare Lamont for the 4th QTR where he can pound tired defenses into submission, and you know, Lamont is fine with that now and so are the Pats.

when Espn is pointing out that exact same play where we ran 3 straight times, then you know the CS is really stupid. Now the whole world knows how stupid our CS is
