Yeah, I noticed that too. I wonder why they would randomly have some field level sections have blue seats when the rest are red. Speaking of which, looking at these pics just made me think of another reason why it's unfortunate to have to continue to share a stadium with the Giants - we still don't have green seats. I know it's not a huge deal, but it's emblematic of the Jets never having their own stadium and consequently their own identity. Always playing in someone else's place.
I'd rather not have green seats. That would look too ugly. Leave the ugliness to the team on the field please
i wasnt even thinking about price. obviously that is out of control! my thing is they have taken an area that was 80% covered from the elements and opened it all to the weather. they have taken the sections and made them much wider looking at the pictures i would say the sections are probably 50% wider in the new stadium. they also appear to be much deeper as well. in addition to being higher and further away from the field. really i would be pissed if it DIDNT cost me more to go from the old to the new mezz. add onto that 89k or so and its a fuckin debacle.
Not looking thru 51 pages for info in a thread You really think people should have to wade thru 51 pages of posts to see the most updated pics, REALLY? I don't have the time to look thru 51 pages of posts to find the most updated pics of the stadium. There comes a point where people have to start new threads because 50+ page threads are ridiculous. It needs to be easy to access info and this idea that no one can start a new thread because one is out there is just not valid in some cases, the over lenghty stadium update is a good example. Maybe some have that much time to waste but I don't. Respectfully.
Thanks guys. To be honest I came back by mistake as I was responding to a PM and I saw the college basketball topic and naturally responded but I appreciate all the nice PMs I got over the last couple of months. I want to move forward from what happened though. I didn't do it for attention or anything like that(or else I would have procalimed I was leaving rather than actually doing it), some know why I did it and I'll leave it at that.
I agree that $400 is over the top and very few are going to step up to that. But I'm not sure we're going to see a drop in prices becasue, as I've said before, that would raise Holy Hell with the ticketholders: "I abided by your seniority priority and waited for my call when my turn came, then I made my seat selection based on your (then) prices. Now you've lowered your prices and are selling the better seats to those behind me. I would have opted for the Mezz instead of the Uppers had I known. You've screwed me, and now you need to go back and tell those people they can have those seats contingent upon calling back every ticketholder from 1977 on up, in order again, to see if they want those seats now." There is no way the Jets want to get into an embarrasing situation like that, especially after the Giants won't have to resort to doing that. And it would take way too much time, also. No, if the seats don't sell, the Jets will put them up for General Admission with no PSL required. They've already demonstrated they're not opposed to eBay auctions, so that's what will probably happen to those seats. The going average rate at auction will be more like $150-$200 per seat, less than half, IMO.
You mean the Red Bulls. I go and it's a blast, speak for yourself! (It would be better if the team didn't suck though). Starting next year they get their own house http://www.redbullarena.us/
Old vs New Stadium The old "Giants" stadium was about 900,000 sq ft, the New "to be named Stadium" is approx. 2,100,000 sq ft, over 2 times the sq. footage. And the old capacity was just uder 80,000 people, while the new one is supposed to seat 82,500.
When I say "nobody" it doesn't mean literally nobody but when they get hundreds of fans in an 80,000 seat Stadium it sure looks like nobody.
