I haven't been more upset about a NYY loss this season than I am about this one. Why the FUCK is Scott Proctor in a tie ballgame?!

Sucks to lose, but I'd rather save Robertson and Rivera's arms for when we really need them.

That said, Proctor can barely pitch one inning much less two. I wish Girardi had gone to Kontos or Noesi for the 10th.

Why not call up Betances instead of Proctor? I don't grasp why he was summoned from the minors, we know exactly what he's capable of.

Not planning on playing them necessarily, but changing his mind midway through the game.

Cano, Teixeira, and Granderson are the three best hitters. Give them the day off or don't give them the day off.

But like I said above, I'd bet almost anything it had more to do with getting those guys a couple extra hours of sleep by letting them know they wouldn't be starting the night before.

Proctor got the loss but it was fuckin Soriano that blew the save. That's who you should be pissed at...the guy making 10 or 15 million a year.

I think Noesi was unavailable after having pitched the night before. I think, but not certain. Why not Kontos, I don't know. All I can think is that Joe was looking at it as going more innings, and Proctor is a guy you can keep telling to go out there and he won't question you.

Exactly. A day off is a day off. One PH in the ninth is one thing. But to play them earlier in the day is ridiculous.

FTR, the idea that Joe threw out that lineup wasn't my own original one. There were sportswriters saying it. And from what I was reading, it was the indication they got from Girardi in the pre-game.

    Yeah, this.

I don't think we should rely on that. He is who he is. I give Cashman a lot of crap for things he does, but he was right about not wanting to waste money on Soriano.

Who he is is a guy with a sub 3 ERA, 1.03 WHIP over the course of 9 big league seasons/375 games. He also has pitched effectively in the AL East in the past.

He's had a dissapointing regular season, but that can be wiped away with a solid playoffs.

Can we just have one day where no starting players or main relievers don't play AT ALL? I'd rather "forfeit" one game a week then spread this shit out over the entire month.

And if Girardi MUST do it this way, can he take a chance on Kontos or Betances instead of going back to shit like Laffey and Proctor?

i'm sorry AMJets we can't, we have Girardi at the helm, just expect a good dose of rustration and you'll be o.k. when it happens.
Montero is an animal, the jets should sign him.

Too bad he wasn't right about dumping Ian Kennedy.

I'd say he was exactly right about Kennedy: a good young pitcher whose stuff translates best to the light-hitting lineups in the NL West. I liked Kennedy, but he wouldn't be having the same kind of season for the Yanks. And considering he got Granderson in return and the Yanks have one of the best ERAs in the league, I doubt he's losing sleep over the deal.
