But Eli sees better, moves better and has a cannon for an arm compared to Sanchez...comparing him to Eli is a joke.

Wild card as long as NE has Gronk and Hernandez, along with Welker and an improving defense.

The Jets couldn't get up for the New England games or the games where their playoff lives depended on it.

What makes you think a game which most of them won't watch will motivate them?

19-0 next year. Everyone says we got lucky and we should have gone 0-16 and never sniffed the playoffs. Everyone will say we backed into the number #1 seed and backed into our trip into NO. We will probably face Brees and the Saints so most of NO and the media will want to see us lose. We will win the SB, and we won't get any credit because we needed a last second FG to do it and we were lucky that went in from 22 yards out.

The problem is with Brady at quarterback the patriots will always have a top 5 offense. They could (without trading) pick up 4 defensive weapons in the first 2 rounds of the draft and i read somewhere they have lots of cap space to pursue at least one big time FA maybe even 2/3. I'm worried for next year!!

WTF?? as long as brady is in there the jets are not winning the east. as we have seen though that doesn't mean all is lost. i am figuring 8-8/9-7.

but to me - its not necessarily the record - its how they get to that record and the stats they boast.

as long as the Pats have Brady and Billy Boy we wont get anything more than a wild card.

They had the 31st ranked D this year and won 13 games won the division and made it to the SB....we had a D around the top 5 the last 3 years and didnt win shit.

I think the Jets are a lot farther off the many people think. Our WR situation is shit...our safety situation is shit....we dont have an NFL ready RT...our RB's have big ? marks...our punter and FG kicker are worthless. OUr D line is average...oh yea...our QB sucks too.

agree but the 31st D ranking is more a product of their prolific offense.

That 31st ranked defense won the football game yesterday.

    Brady played like crap.

fix the OL, upgrade the D and we have a great shot to go all the way. Look at the Giants, one play changed both our seasons- the 99 yd TD. if that play doesn't happen there's a great chance we make the playoffs and maybe we get hot?

Too early in the off season to make a prediction for next season, although it does look more likely than not that we will find all of the following on Opening Day:

    - Sanchez still at Qb, with no real vet backup. Perhaps an improving and learning McElroy, though.

    - No real upgrade at RB, and hence a mediocre running attack centered around Greene.

    - Hunter is replaced with an upgrade, but Ferguson continues his mysterious decline, Slauson is only a bit better, and Moore suddenly looks old. Turner comes back strong, though, and is a solid contributor. VD continues to hold down a totally wasted roster spot.

    - Keller is still the starting TE, still drops too many passes, still can't block for shit, and still disappears for long stretches. Well, at least 12 will be his last year with the team.

    - Holmes returns, Kerley shows improvement, Turner nails down the 4 spot, and Edwards does not come back, with Burress replaced by some cheaply priced FA who is no better than Burress between the 20's and not as good in the red zone.

    - Pouha comes back and gains increased recognition as the second best starter on the D, and the DL rotation continues to be effective without any additional help other than Pouha returning.

    - Scott and Pace both return despite their cap and contract situations, Harris continues to be overrated, but Thomas is replaced by a young LB with speed, and Maybin and Westerman show improvements. Still, the LB's are relatively slow.

    - Jets get two new safeties but still won't be able to cover opponents' TE's. Wilson will still be the nickel back, and not show he should start.

    - Special teams include Folk, who continues his inconsistent performance, and another crappy punter. But at least a new one.

Assuming the foregoing, the Jets will be somewhere between 7-9 and 9-7.

Depends on who the QB is.

If it is Manning, the Jets have probably just won the AFCCG against the Pats or Ravens. If it is Sanchez, the Jets have probably just lose either the AFCCG or Divisional Round to either the Pats or Ravens after being the 5th seed.

Elia was a joke in year three and the vaGina fans wanted a new QB and cursed their FO for not keeping Rivers.

    Please shut up.

I'm not a Sanchez supporter but to throw him to the scrap heap this early in his career is suicide for this team.
