Yeah, I was being sarcastic. The way the NFL works now if your team is not competitive for several years in a row there's something seriously wrong with management of your team.
Are you feeling ok? Time for a PET scan of your brain buddy. Who wouldn't want the team to go to the playoffs? Are you serious about wanting us to do poorly so that we get a better draft choice? That's absolutely insane. Draft picks are crap shoots normally, especially mid first round picks, which is what we'll be looking at. So, who cares if we drop 5 spots and we have a shot at winning the super bowl.... any time you're in the playoffs, you have a chance. That's all I ask for.
Not to rain on your parade, but the Jets 4 wins have come against teams with a combined 5-22 record. They got blown out 41-0 by a Jax team that probably won't make the playoffs. To list all those games as "should wins" is a little optimistic, IMO they should be listed as "might win". If all goes great for the Jets they are looking at 9-7 but most likely finish at 8-8. A record by the way, that the majority of you predicted would be out of their reach this season.
Despite the source of this post -- I agree. Might win or can win is fine with me. I think they will definitely screw up at least one of those. The question is can they steal one from NE/CHI/MINN
Its still too early for me to think about the playoffs. I'm still taking it one week at a time, but the New Englad game is huge in my mind right now. If we can beat Cleveland and play the pats, after our bye week for a possible division lead after 10 weeks, I'm not sure what more you could ask for from a team the "experts" listed as the 2nd worst team in the NFL.
It's all about the tiebreakers, baby. Right now we're 2-1 in the division and 3-3 in the AFC, that's what matters. To have any shot for the AFC East we need to win at NE and win the Buffalo and Miami games in December. If we're going to slip up, best to do it vs an NFC team. The Bears game won't hurt too much if we lose, nor would Minnesota.
how can you possibly think like that?? If we make it to the playoffs, and lose, then we have something nice to build on, regardless if we get knocked out early.....a better draft choice???....it's a crapshoot anyway any team on any given game can win, and we hung with the colts who are considered the best team in the league by most at this point.....the steelers won the superbowl last year as a 6th seed, you gotta be n it, to win it
Certainly true, but do you not feel that the Jets are better than Cleveland, Houston, Oakland, Miami, Buffalo, and Green Bay? We won't win all 6 of those games, but we're better than each of those teams probably.
The Jets IMO are at a stage in their development that it wouldn't surprise me if they beat any of the above teams or lost to them. The Jets are certainly heading in the right direction, but they are not clearly better than any team in the league. I hope Miami, the Bills and Jets all improve, so that the AFC East gets back to being the toughest division in the NFL. The season (for the fans) is more fun that way.
It doesn't surprise me when anything happens, the balance of good and bad is so delicate. I'm surprised so many people base their opinions on last year to begin with. Last year we had a 3rd string QB, a banged up line, a hurt RB and a coach with his bags packed, so we ended up 4-12. All that has nothing to do with now.
