We had the cap room to keep Cro, and he's still a Pro Bowl caliber CB when healthy (this time last year people were saying we could trade Revis because we won't lose much with Cro around!) .............

I hope we have a verbal agreement with Verner because this could turn into the Namdi saga again. Though i have trust that Idzik wouldn't have made this move if he didn't have a plan. We know how important corners are in Rex's defense
He would've had to be "released" but it would've been your only being released for a new contract kind've deal. This means he is hitting the open market and we have our eyes set on other CB's. Along with Cro's tweets the jet beat writers are reporting its unlikely he will be back.
Idzik would have never made this move like this unless he has a plan and something tells me Verner is that plan. He probably told Verner that they will release Cro and he would be getting the salary he wants and start at corner for us. No brainer for these guys to play under Rex in his defense.
I'm not confident about getting Verner, not yet at least. Idzik/Rex has confidence in Milliner taking a step forward and will likely put him in the #1 spot. I'm more concerned about our #2 CB situation as of now... without a free agent, is Wilson ready?

We can keep Sanchez till the 26th and release him then, that's when he gets his roster bonus..not sure what date it is for Holmes.

Since Verner is still property of the Titans, couldn't the Jets be nailed for tampering if Verner signs with the Jets immediately on Tuesday?
Agree completely. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't already have a 'handshake' agreement with one of the FA CBs.
