OLB would go from a weakness to a strength right away. Especially if we drafted Ansah or Jones. I really think Ansah would thrive here with Rex coaching him up.
Me either we havent even drafted yet and we already made some nice cost effective signings . Next hole to fill is saftey we have no one at that posistion
I am happy with all of the signings so far as well. Not breaking the bank and not signing anyone over 30.
if we could get Victor Butler too that would be AMAZING. I love this signing Barnes can get to the QB.
I think Idzik might be the best pick up we will make this year. I love the Barnes signing and if he didn't get hurt last year we wouldn't be able to go after him cause he would cost way too much.. I can't wait to see what we do next.
Like the move, its a postive instead of all the negative stuff I have been reading. If he can get just 3 more sacks then last year, thats 6 and its a home run.
The best thing about the move is that it signals that the Jets aren't dumping the year. Signing a guy who is going to be 29 in October only happens if you think 2013 is a very important year for the franchise, a year you don't give up on in March.
I enever thought we were going to tank the season. Defense has solid young players and we released only aged stars. Future is bright. We will be a top 5 defense for sure. If we can have an average offense, we will make the playoffs.
The staff has done a good job of getting some short term patches. This will not be a suck for luck kind of year. Idzik is standing true to his claim that he wanted to competition for jobs at all levels of the team. We may not be preseason Super Bowl contenders, but we are not rolling over for a higher draft pick.
Highly doubt it. I say we finish 5-11 TOPS. And we should be rooting for a high pick next season, we can get Bridgewater and finally have our QB of the future.
The question is, is this a good or bad thing? Either way I really like Idzik's direction that he's taking the team.
So is it official? I've been reading that there's been some complications/delays with the contract. https://twitter.com/vikes42/status/313710293756833793 Hopefully, this is just small stuff & the deal gets closed. Very happy to have him aboard.
It really does look like the Jets are making all the right moves. If this continues into the draft I would definitely see these Jets as sleepers. All in all, it all comes down to QB play in the end. We had 6 wins with injuries all over the place and if we lock down a good veteran Safety and pair Barnes with Jarvis Jones this defense is once again top ten. QB play that doesn't lose you games will have these Jets at 9+ wins next year at the least.
Agree the QB position needs a lot of help but I do think Morningwood is a clear upgrade over Sparano and Schitty. That alone could have a big impact on offense that is obviously still lacking talent.
We won 6 games last year with a terrible Sanchez and a first time starting McElroy. Garrard is already an improvement, not to mention, Sanchez could thrive in a WCO and we might be going after Kevin Kolb. I can see us winning 9+ games this coming season. With the speed and a quick WCO approach, we should be able to
