I understand what you're saying. Each player has a duty to themselves and their families to maximize the monetary value of their careers. Each play could be their last. I get that. Truly great players (and Revis claims to be this) are able to create a steady stream of cash AFTER their playing careers are over. Many ways to do this, and many more options are available for the truly eleite in NYC. NYC is dying for a larger than life football god. Imagine if this player was to win a Super Bowl for the Jets!? Think of the endosments (steak houses, Broadway theater appearances the list goes on and on). WhatI'm getting at is a player like Revis claims should have the foresight to make team freedom contract decisions so he can be this guy. I think Mo needs to be in the same camp as well as Fitz. The value of their contracts isn't the only $ they are playing for...
they have a ton of comp picks ... most of them are in the sixth but they have a third for declining the option on revis
With all due respect I thought I just recently read that they have something like two 2's, two 3's, no 4 or 5 but like five 6's and then 7. Even without a 1st rounder they have a boat load of picks. And they just signed four former #1 picks. If they hit on half of them it will be a steal for what it cost them. They had no intention of resigning Chandler Jones after next season. I know everybody hates these guys including me but damn, there's just no end to them being good and better than most. Year after year it just keeps on going. They always seem to trade out of the 1st round anyway. Now they have two 2's and two 3's.
