I'll take Him....for the past few years our corners were terrible. We needed change & I think Lito has something to prove that he's still Pro Bowl material. What I really don't wanna see is another Donnie Abraham. C'mon Lito prove us wrong...show us your still the man

Regardless of performance it is good to know that we only give up a late round pick if he flops. If he pans out, he is still in his prime, and would be an unreal compliment to Revis. The price is fair regardless.

The Good News? Pretty much every interception was in the red zone.

The Bad News? Pretty much every interception was two years ago.

No coach, not even the worst coach ever, gets to the playoffs and says, "My best cornerback is an asshole, so I'm not going to play him."

Agreed, with the exception of Bill Belichick.

I have high hopes for Lito. Last year our #2 CB was crappy. Last year, low expectations were fine. Lito is a good player.

More likely that our corners get a lot of picks because to the blitzing from the front 7.

Yes, we gave him a new contract, that's why he's smiling. Could we actually have 2 corners at the same time

Lito vs. Lowery. Lowery got picked on a lot last year cause Reveis was so strong. I think Lito's going to be picked on a lot this year but i think lito's got the knack for the pick and the big return whereas lowery still has a lot to prove. Neither guy is a shut down corner in my opinion, maybe lito was a few years ago.

Lito will probably give up a lot of short and medium yard catches. a guy like wes welker will have a field day against him, but hopefully the 8 to 10 catches he gives up gets off-set by the game breaking pick he makes.

The really good thing this year is that in Sheppard, Lowery and Strickland we have 3 CB who are (supposedly) really good at making interceptions... with an aggressive front 7 like ours there will be many chances to take advantage of that :)

Outside of the number 1 CB spot , I really like the competition there. This will do alot of favors for Lowery, as a poster above has said. It will let him develop and watch parts of the game which he didn't see as he was busy getting picked on last season.
Lito I believe will be the pick up of the season , yes even more than Bart Scott.
I hate to keep repeating quotes, but its just so appropriate here.

Then thing that Sheppard impressed me from abyzmul's vid almost as much as his returning ability after the picks was his positioning to make the picks. There was only one or two picks that were kinda lucky, where Lito was at right place at the right time, but the rest were picks where Lito read the WR and the QB and made a play. He's positioning was so good that in som situations the WR had to make the transition to a defender and try to bat the ball down so it wouldn't be picked. I especially liked the pick against Jarrett (Panthers no. 19?).

And why do some of you think that Sheppard will not pan out? I can honestly say that Lito Sheppard is the part I feel most confident heading to next season.

I know most of these articles are fluff pieces at this time of the year, but I think getting Lito from Philadelphia was an absolute steal. Having him lineup on the opposite side from Revis is going to make our pass defense one of the best.

I'm not sold on Sheppard, but this right here is what makes it work for me. We will have a strong competition for that #2 spot. We're not just relying on Lowery, Coleman and Poteat to solidify the secondary.

Having Lito and Revis is crucial in the Nfl today as every team has 2 dangerous receivers for example:

    Moss n Welker
    Ocho Cinco n Coles
    Owens n Evans

    and their are more....

Having 2 shut down corners allows Rex to send in the troops to say hi to the other teams qb...

since it was done so early in the offseason, people have forgotten we signed sheppard, myself included. i think it was a great pickup, and the video was great too. yea, he might not be champ bailey, but my only concern with lito is covering a big receiver in short yardage situation as i think he's a shorter cb. I don't think he is one to give up the big play because he has great recovery speed and can beat a receiver to the ball.

I've often wondered why nobody went out of their way to change their screen name to Sark Manchez. I think it's great.
