Is that the Junc reality? Where only you live in this reality?

I happen to understand this game better than most of you guys, you guys just look at #s. The facts are he has had ONE bad year and it was a year w/ his top 5 weapons being Kerley, Schilens, Gates, Cumberland, Reuland along w/ a poor run game and an awful OC.

It is the knowledgeable football fan reality, not the whiny fan reality.

No, Sanchez has been forced to play for bottom tier OCs, with no blue chip skill talent...so, its not really a fair evaluation of what he can be.

Shit St.Louis sucked on offense last year, no?

  6. There are 2 things I can't wrap my head around concerning the true Sanchez "haters"/Jets dark siders

    1. The guy had 16 college starts before coming to the NFL. He was young & raw coming out. Why is there this overriding assumption that he can't get better? His problems are NOT physical. He throws a good ball, has displayed good footwork & has made plays. Why is there such a mental block regarding him bouncing back? Why is it absolute death w/ no hope for resurrection? If he just avoids turnovers while getting back his front line surrounding cast...sure maybe he isn't elite..but the problem is essentially solved?

    2. Why is the excessive injuries from last season COMPLETELY overlooked & shunned? We're talking about Sanchez throwing to guys who were fresh off the STREET. Not only did they lack talent..but they barely knew the playbook w/ absolutely NO continuity. At one point the team's best option was the #4 WR in TC! In a scheme predicated on "hit you in the mouth" execution & minimal smoke/mirrors to compensate..what the hell did you people expect? Why does this go completely overlooked?

Are some of you that blinded by ignorance & hate? As Junc said..learn the fricking game!

Kurt, guys still dont get that Schotty, unlike almost every other OC is trying to run a Coryell based system.

Its hilarious, a while back they re-ran the Pitt game, and Simms mentions offhand that Schotty himself admitted he didnt include enough easy throws, to get the QB going. SMH.

And for all of the Haters, turned Schottydefenseforce....heres a cute little article.

    http://callingtheplay.blogspot.com/2012/01/what-about-schottenheimer.html

Notice two things. Highest PPG, Favre, that refused the playbook.

Red Zone %.... look at the jump when Moore comes in.

Thats not a defense of Sanchez, but an indictment of Schotty. However, as night follows day.,,

And FWIW, Sanchez was the only Jets QB under Schotty to go plus 6 TD/ints. (+6,+8) And he did it twice. Not Penny, not Favre.two far more accurate QBs. though counting Favre really is invalid because he basically split from the program.

He's ranked dead last over a four year period, but his quality of play was bad for only one of those years? That's your idea of dealing in reality? If you can't accept the concept that good QB play over 75% of a four year period would have landed the guy somewhere above LAST place, then you don't exactly have a stranglehold on reality. I suppose he's a really good quarterback but he just hasn't played that way ... but why should actual game performance matter? Let the rest of this know-nothing fan base judge him by his numbers and his overall production vs. his peers, and you can keep spinning things on their head.

As far as Geno goes ... if he plays like Sanchez for the next 4 seasons you're damn right I'll be bashing him. When we finally cut Sanchez and nobody will touch him with a 10' pole except to hold a clipboard, will you still be telling us how good he is, or will you finally admit that we whiffed on the pick?

So 4 years is still not enough body of work? Should we give him 10 years?

    'top 10ish 2nd year
    top 15-18 3rd year

Chad got injured and we cheered him! - He sacrificed his body to help us contend. Chad was a franchise QB at one point and time. This fan-base at times is idiotic and I even go as far as to say I was ashamed when fans cheered for Pennington to get hurt.

That's where I'm at. I want the Jets to win and I don't think Sanchez helps with that, so I want him to lose the competition. If he wins the competition, obviously I will root for him to do well in the regular season.

this is the tebowmania effect. I think most fans were willing to be cautiously optimistic and probably a lot of them are. however you get a couple of guys telling everyone they are average fans and don't understand the game, only look at fantasy stats and that mark is ( my personal favorite) 26th rank top 10 best being countered with sanchez hate 1 liners and you lose logical conversation and end up with a 13,000 post thread of ignorance arguing with dilliusion.
you won't find much middle ground there

In context, he has out performed his OC. Hes also had a better td/int ratio, than Favre or Pennington, two far more accurate ( and at times elite) QBs, and yet, from 2009-2011 his comp % improved each year.

How about what we see what he can do with a real oc?

Yes, Pennington was. Check the link I posted, and look @ 2010,2011, comparative to Pennys two years in that offense.

    Blah blah. Sanchez is starting.

I guess your prediction wasn't just weak, it will be flat out wrong.

This whole situation is like a bad nightmare.

I think Geno brings a glimmer of hope. Hence people want to say goodbye to Sanchez and start a new chapter for our team.

It may be right or wrong but it's hope.

Ditto. I just dont expect him to do well.... I want to be wrong and will gladly admit it if the time comes.

Junc, get off your fuckin high horse. Its completely justified to doubt Sanchez at this point.
