Cimini is just a reporter. He's paid to stir up trouble and report on inner workings of a team. All the teams have reporters like this.

Correct. The difference is that in NY, the reporters of the other team usually like to do this so it strange reading Jets' beat writers stories with a negative spin, then NY in general stories with a negative spin.

I don't agree with you. I never understand why people post comments that are like "I don't care about this topic". No one cares if you care or not. If you don't care don't comment. Shitty writers are not status quo and need not be accepted as such. We can and should demand better from our reporters. This is not about some guy reporting on bad things that are happening, this turd either makes up stuff or insinuates or enflames existing problems for his own personal benefit. As I said before, he's unprofessional.

What do people want Cimini to write?

I'd kind of like a look at the inner workings of the team and the in's and out's of the offense and defense. A few special interest stories on players we don't know that well. A look ahead at what the new season promises, etc.

Like most teams the Jets won't talk very much about the inner workings. They don't discuss the in's and out's of the offense and defense at all. There really aren't very many players we don't know that well at this point after the rookies. And nobody has a clue what the new season promises because we don't know how everything is going to come together after the collapse last year and the additions at QB, WR, LB, S, and conspicuously not on the OL.

I don't envy any writer covering the Jets right now. You basically have two things to write about that aren't all hush-hush, Tim Tebow and Mark Sanchez, and almost anything you write about them is likely to have negative connotations.

Darrelle Revis? Yeah it'd be great to write about him if every time you talked to him the contract didn't hover in the background on you. Mangold and D'Brick? Then you have to write about the offensive line, which is going to bring up some real negativity. David Harris? Gawd the other linebackers are getting old...

This team gets a huge amount of negative coverage because everywhere you look there are storm clouds on the horizon. There are no bright spots except for Saint Tim - and as soon as you go there you get the Tebow-Sanchez cataclysm to come.

Is Cimini negative right now? Hell no. He's just writing about the Jets snd everywhere you look there is negative spin heading into next season. That just is what it is.

Believe me if Cimini was just looking at the positive angles at this point we'd all be calling him a clueless tard inside of a month because he was drinking the koolaid.

The title of the thread is "Boycott Cimini" I think you're looking for the "let's make excuses for a shitty reporter" thread. Also, it is abso-fucking irrelevant that you believe it's ok that he trashes the team some of us love because you guess that people might complain if he put a positive slant instead of his negative, yellow journalism style he currenlty subjects jets fans to. Not to mention it's a retarded thing to say in general. Seriously.

I'd love to see some more analysis and background on the coaches we have, since we have some new ones in the mix. Where they started coaching, what positions and at what level they have coached at before, what style of coaching they have, some notable players they have coached who have either turned out great or busted, to give a spectrum. Stuff like that would be interesting, without the need for a positive or negative spin. Just straight facts.

Now that sounds good... I wouldn't mind reading abt our new coaches, new defensive motto "one step faster", if ground and pound will be more effective, since we do have more speed on offense (and defense), how having our rivals coach as offensive coordinator changes the way we might play against certain teams, etc...

I thought he hit the nail on the head with his comments on Sanchez and Tebow in his Sunday Notes. Not that you guys would know.

Cimini is that you? You think because he had to use his column to defend himself after causing yet another stir that makes the team look retarded that somehow counted as news? He took an interview out of context, put it out there for sensationalism sake only, and then "covered" his own mess. The head of a nail? More like a mop on the floor.
