that is because he doesn't have a position based on a logical analysis, simply a bias against him. his comment is more indicative of his own character rather than Brady Quinn's ability.
so why are we talking about having a good pick in the draft in 2007???? as far as i'm concerned, i would like the jets to have the 32nd pick in the 2007 draft!!!
I agree we most likely won't have the opportunity to draft at #1. With that said, how the hell do we know if Brady will even be worth a #1 pick next year? It's foolish to look ahead to next years draft because we have no idea what's going to happen in college football this upcoming season. I guess everyone's just speculating for the sake of it.
Tom Brady would be a great QB no matter what team he's on, and that's because of the teaching that Weis gave him early on in his career, the same teaching that Quinn is presently receiving.
Never said that. what I'm saying is that the school he plays for and the system he plays in is heavily inflating his perceived talent. I mentioned A Rodgers before but frankly the guy this guy reminds of is Drew Brees.
The Buckeyes made Brady Quinn look like a Pop Warner quarterback last season. He is in the perfect system for his abilities... just say NO to BQ.
I can't believe there is a Brady Quinn thread in the Jets forum when... - We haven't finished the 06' draft (we could draft a QB this year making this thread useless.) - We don't know how well the Jets or Quinn will do in 06'
He is already playing in an NFL offense which one champions in this leage. and over in Notre Dame He is breaking records.
You named two guys with less than stellar arms in offenses that were known for being gimmicky in some way, Charlie Weis' offense is nowhere near that. He runs a pro offense, which require pro throws to be made. I always talk about Vince Young and his incredible turn around from what I thought was a mediocre Soph. year to an incredible Junior year, but Quinn had a similar turn around. He's always had the physical talent, it was just a matter of getting it, and that's the effect of Weis.
You can't count on this guy for anything just yet. Think about it, he's got another year to go. As we have seen in college and pro ball, alot can happen to a player over the course of a year- specifically a dropoff in gameplay or a career altering injury, ala Chad.... He can go from Must to Bust quicker than the words roll across your tongue. To try and bank on a guy this year, hoping that his gameplay will stay at the same level, is quite foolish. It's like passing up a perfectly good car in the showroom this year, because there is a model coming out next year, though it's still in development and stilll needs to go through all of its major tests.
