    Unless I'm underestimating how well supplements work, I don't see how it's worth it for a player to take any supplement given the possibility of a positive test.

    I would bet just about every player takes some kind of supplement to get through the season and help with their workouts.

    With the advancements in nutrition, and training methods , supplements can probably be eliminated, and an athlete still reach their full genetic potential, but it's much easier to drink a shake ,or take some pills than to follow a strict regiment.

    There is no approved supplement list, only a banned list that is not all inclusive. Per the nflpa website:

    Your right, but they do recommend the NSF certified for sport approved supplements. The AegisShield app only allows you to check what's on the label and tells you if any of the listed ingredients are banned. It doesn't tell you what else may be in the product that is not on the label.
    That's the problem that gets many players in trouble. The issues with labeling.
