Holy moly finding this out this moment thanks to this thread. Don't let Tanner off the hook. This offense has been abominable this season.
Yeah Sauce doesn’t strike me as much of a X’s and O’s student of the game tactician from the cornerback spot.
I think he probably could be if he was actually dedicated to the game. I think he likes being a celebrity more than an NFL player.
I don't recall too many coordinators fired. Remind me. I do agree about the HC's, Young QB's and GM's though.
Let's see. While I desperately want us to lose against the Saints for the longer term good of the team and that means I wanted Wilks in place for one more game, I am not sure if the defense will improve with this move or maybe even will get a little worse. I actually want to find out. Granted, AG did this on purpose, as we just conceded 48 and going against a rookie QB and a bad team, so it is easier to show progress, but I do genuinely wonder if it was Wilks play calling or the system AG approved just sucks.
The Bears hired the Lions OC and lead the league in turnovers, we hired the DC and are dead last, hilarious...
On the one hand, Wilks sucked and good riddance. On the other hand, it would be so Jets to get enough of a boost to win one of their remaining games and knock themselves out of Mendoza contention.
Too little, too late at this point. The only change that will even begin to move the needle in the right direction for this team would be to fire the entire coaching staff. This has been a complete waste of a season. A bad season I can deal with, if some kind of foundation is being set and we see improvement as the year goes. But this has been a waste of time. There's been regression at every level aside from the special teams. The Jets punted on 2025 before it even started and now, assuming they retain this coaching staff, they're already looking like they're going to punt on 2026 as well.
Leonard and Harris lead the pool as first time candidates for DC with a shot to succeed. Prior HCs could include Jim Schwartz if he is let go.
Put sherwood at safety and special teams. Why does Glenn choose to follow Joe Douglas' dream that Sherwood the scarecrow can play NFL LB when he is outweighed by most WRs?
This is what I am so sick of And if we keep Glenn for next year, I think it’ll be more of the same There is absolutely NOTHING you can point to in this shithole of a season to say ok, I can see where we’re going…nothing at all. Offense sucks. Defense sucks. Penalties still here. No pressure on QBs. No QB on the roster. No receivers other than GW. Like it’s barren all over the place. The only real things I can point to are our special teams, and I would say the OL at least looks decent…nothing great, but better than the disaster it’s been for the last several years. That’s about it. We have no idea what the fuck AG’s vision is, what he’s building this team to be. Nothing. A wasted year with yet another rookie DC pretender at the HC seat. I’m almost hoping for the remaining games to all be huge blowouts because that’s the only thing that could possibly force Woody to just clean house with this coaching staff. And of course I’d also hope that finally, THIS time, he’d hire an offensive guy.
Most of us know he's not going anywhere, wishful thinking I suppose. We are stuck another year, just voicing our displeasure with the fact we have to watch this disgusting product for another season. Curious, what has Glenn done this year that you can hang your hat on? Defense? Obviously not, Offense? Nope, not that either, Special teams? Sure he can have credit for watching Chris Banjo. Motivator? Guys not giving up? Yeah, none of that. Hmm, maybe he's the strong silent type, accountability? Not much of that until his hand is forced, just trying to find the bright spots.
Per Cimini With a defensive-minded HC, the Jets are: 30th in scoring D 20th in yards allowed 28th in EPA 0 INTs This quote is great lol, thought this was only Wilks fault.. "In the spring, Wilks said the defensive system would be a "collaboration" of his scheme and Glenn's scheme. After Sunday's game, Glenn noted that he was letting Wilks run his own system -- a rather telling comment. Glenn suggested that he'd give Wilks the final three games before evaluating him."
