Briggs has been pretty good at defensive tackle and I thought he was dreadful to start the year especially when he gave up that huge Javonte run.

Malachi Moore looks to be a solid enough safety. You don’t see him show up on tape getting beat or missing massive amounts of tackles. Every time someone got beat last week it was Isaiah Oliver, Adams or Stiggers.

AZ Thomas looked pretty damn good for a rookie 3-4 games in.

I mean again some of this is grasping at straws but that stuff is at least something to hang our hat on. The linebackers are the worst in the league. Not sure if they’ve regressed or if Quinnen and a really good front covered up their deficiencies. They need 3 new starters there as far as I’m concerned.

I used to believe in all that but then the Jets hired the offensive coordinator from literally the greatest offense in modern history and he was worse than every defensive guy you mention

I don’t know about Clemons improving, other than he isn’t getting a stupid penalty every game, but he still makes very few plays and fewer impact plays. He’s a third string backup DE at best.

sadly, not getting a 15 yard penalty per game IS improving

No, they hired a guy whose offense was rated #26 in points and #31 in yards. And 30/25 respectively a year before. Gase's offense was pretty bad with Miami. At the point we hired him it should have been apparent the historic Denver offense was because of Manning, not Gase. What we are suggesting is to hire someone who has a good offense now, not #31 or #26 rated now, who at some point over 3 years ago had a great offense with HoF QB. Liam Coen would have been a good example in the last cycle.

Yeah there are some small victories here and there, but overall, we have a defensive coach, whose defense stinks. It's just not good no matter how you slice it.

Seriously…I think it was obvious to pretty much anyone watching games that Gase was riding Peyton’s coattails, just like it was obvious that Nathaniel Hackett was riding Rodgers’ coattails. Of course, Woody was the stupid idiot not to see it.

On an unrelated side note, I also felt the same way a few years ago when Eric Bienemy was riding Reid’s and Mahomes” coattails.

In all three cases, it was the QB with success both before and after those posers…they didn’t do much other than get along with a HOF QB and happened to be in the right place at the right time.

    But Woody is Woody…
