That's debatable. They have a MUCH better QB, receivers, secondary, and special teams.

and their OL sucks: their DLINE sucks! Their run game sucks! IMO its in the coaching department where they have a huge advantage.

we had the edge up front on both sides of the ball, they have the edge pretty much everywhere else but a rookie vs. a HOF QB is a big difference and a young team off a big win w/ a short week vs. a vet/proud team w/ a week off is a HUGE difference.

When was the thread written? Most people that read the thread understood that the DATE in the upper left hand corner of the thread which reads "8-20-13" figured out that it was posted on ...well...8-20-13. I'm explaining this to you and trying to use small words so that YOU can understand (because I assume everyone else knows how dated material works). Oh, and thanks for "forgiving" me...not sure if I could have slept tonight without that. I also don't know who you are referring to with your reference to "semen, womanish and the rest of the jackals." Willing to bet, however, they understand how to read an original thread better than you.

Really? Zero INTs before yesterday and the Jets special teams have been solid as a rock so far. The Steelers also have one of the worst OL in football.

Pitt has been a huge problem for the Jets before yesterday. They are a tough matchup even if objectively their personnel has as many if not more problems than the Jets. Miller is an example. He's the type of TE the Jets seem to have no real answer for. and while the Jets got their sacks against BR, he's tough enough to get away often enough to make some plays.

You don't think all the TOs on O putting Pitt in holes and their opponents not having to pass had anything to do w/ the INT totals?

Only 1 game prior to yesterday had Pitt seen more than 30 pass attempts and yesterday was the first time they were playing w/ a lead consistently making it easier to attack on D and create some TOs.

The big matchup problem with Pitt has always been their preparation and game plan.

We came out at home with a game plan to stay close and win at the end against a bad team. We allowed a team that had very little confidence to hang around get a lead and put us in a position of playing up hill. We did everything to make Pittsburgh comfortable in our building.

This. The gameplan seemed to be to keep things close with the Steelers and then maybe steal it at the end. As you pointed out, it had the opposite effect. The Steelers very quickly realized we were not a very good team, were not confident in our ability score points, and would be able to seize control with a couple good drives. The best way to beat the Steelers yesterday would have been to step on their throats early and convince them that yes, they are 0-4 for a reason and that we were 3-2 for a reason. That was not the mentality. Rex kicking the FG early on the 2 yard line instead of going for 4th and 1 told you all you needed to know.

I think that series in BUF has left Rex and MM scarred from going for it on 4th and short. We had a 4th and short against ATL too early in the game we didn't go for it. We had a 4th and hsort late in the game against TEN and we went for it out of necessity. I like going for it, we have a QB who can throw for it or run for it and we have a creative OC. Spread them out, keep a back in the backfield and let Geno make a decision.

We also have a kick ass D that can make it a field position game if we don't make it and re-establish the momentum if we don't get in. Wilkerson just missed getting a safety that might have turned that game.

Yeah we know how it goes. This thread will be bumped after every game, with detractors spewing their shit after every loss and defenders spewing theirs after every win. Fact of the matter is there isn't a lot of talent for this coaching staff to work with. I don't expect to win many ball games scoring 6 fuckin pts.

I generally agree, although I think if either Wilkerson wraps Big Ben up for that safety or Geno hits Hill on the deep post to make it 10-6 (or both), that game ends up being a very different game down the stretch.

2 rings is not enough on its own like for Plunkett or Eli but Ben will make the Hall.

I think you make a good point. Both of those plays were potential game changers. Roethlisberger kind of got his mojo back after he shock off Wilkerson.

Cowher, who sucked, pointed out at the beginning that both teams were going to play it close to the vest. I thought that was the wrong way to go for the Jets in this game.
