I think rushing a Joseph trade is a mistake. It's tempting. But a mistake. Jonathan Joseph is 30 years old and wouldn't be smart solution...especially if he doesn't play well.

As far as the draft, I totally think they could draft CB. Look at the 2015 CB FA market. Not bad, but not great. Looks at 2015 WR FA market!!! WOOO! I'm already getting excited at that!!!!!!!!!

There's plenty of WRs in FA next year to pickup...especially with our cap room. Jets have the RBs, OLs, TEs, and maybe QB. WR is the last offensive piece that really needs improvement.

    2015 CB FA Market:

    Tramon Williams
    Antonio Cromartie
Darrelle Revis (Assuming pats don't pick up 2nd year option)
    Tarrell Brown
    Brandon Flowers
    Charles Tillman
    Walter Thurmond
    Ike Taylor
    Terrence Newman
    Carlos Rogers
    Chris Harris
    Rashean Mathis
    Josh Wilson
    Richard Marshall
    Terrell Thomas

    2015 WR FA Market:

    Wes Welker
    Dez Bryant
    Reggie Wayne
    Demaryius Thomas
    Jeremy Maclin
    Torrey Smith
    Randall Cobb

    Michael Crabtree
    Nate Washington
    Hakeem Nicks
    Eddie Royal
    Miles Austin
    Kenny Britt
    Jason Avant
    Brandon LLoyd
    Robert Meachem
    Eric Weems
    Greg Little
    Darrius Heyward-Bey
    Lavelle Hawkins
    Mario Manningham
    Trindon Holliday
    Denarius Moore
    Rod Streater
    Jermaine Kearse

All I can say its this. For all of you who think we should have way over paid for DRC who had one good year among three shitty sub par years ought to just move on. As for Revis, fuck him and his fat ass contract, he was not even an option, and if he was, and he had a bad hamstring or torn his ACL then what? We would be in the same freaking boat.
People need to get off his dick, because there was no way, no how, even if we had a gazillion dollars he was going to return to the Jets. His idiotic contract and demands, as well as Sanchez BS extension were instrumental in getting us into cap hell. Only idiots make the same mistake multiple times.

Like it or not we are in no different a position now that if we had gone ape shit for a free agent CB and he had gotten hurt. if you dont buy into it, please remember Revis and his very many little set backs, most of which related from holding back after he signed his contract and not getting into football shape. Shit happens when you play football. Stop blaming the GM for players getting hurt. That is absolute BS.

Getting McDougle was a damned good move. unfortunately for the young man he was beign punished again by the Gods of football.

Fuck overpaid CB that were let go by other teams, it is time to grow from within

Eugene was a steal? Yes you are right - he has and will continue to steal millions from the Jets. As far as Garrapolo goes, I said he would have been a good choice to compete vs. Eugene. He is young and has a high upside. Whichever wins out, the other can be used as trade bait. Vick is a stop gap. he's probably gone after this year. Unless, and its a distinct possibility, Eugene just self-destructs.
No hindsight needed. Just common sense. Bottom line is Idzik isn't really supplying any competition vs. Eugene. Even if Vick outplays him, Eugene will start. Even if Vick leads this teamtot eh playoffs and beyond, Eugene starts next year. Eugene is Idzik's pick. Period. He will be the 'starter' until he is cut/contract expires.....just like Sanchez was.

I'm not particularly impressed with the potential free agent cornerbacks.
Cross off Revis, there's mutual hatred on both sides.
As for the WRs, JJ will not let Dez leave Texas without a fight, especially after putting up with sheninanigans.
Thomas is the only one I'd consider, but to be honest, he has the same issue Decker had.
Bottom line, Idzik have to draft and develop talent better.

But..but...that's what I'm saying lol. The FA Corners stink. You have to draft one.

As for Wide Recievers...theres plenty to add.

That's another issue I have with Idzik not addressing the CB position this year when he had piles of cap space and so many good options: We're probably going to have to address it again next year either via Free Agency, draft or trade. So he could have locked down that position for the next 3-4 years between Milliner and whichever UFA plus drafted a CB later than the 3rd round (probably would have still got McDougle or comparable in the 5th anyway) and we would have had far better depth and not had to worry about the position nearly as much as we do now. Patterson obviously isn't a long term solution but even assuming Dee proves he can be a #1 guy we still need to find a #2 and #3 unless people are comfortable with the idea of reserving one of those spots for Dex when he comes back from missing his second year in a row away from football.

So, yeah, he's dropped the ball not only for this year but for the years to come. And for the record: I've been saying this all off season not just now that two guys went down to injury.

There's nothing wrong with signing a few free agents ,no ones saying to overpay

everyone needs to relax.. mcdougle was going to be the the back up slot corner..and the free agent market was pretty bad on the 1st day of free agency, all over rated corners except revis and that just wasnt happen.. DRC has been pretty bad besides last year and the giants paid a fortune for him. im not happy with the cb's either but there really isnt anything better out there except big name player who are arent signed for a reason.

step 1) trade for joseph. if that fails, step 2) sign quentin jammer and if that fails/he looks like shit in his workout, step 3) sign dunta robinson. i honestly don't believe that walls or wilson will be the answer at the 2 spot, and patterson looks like a steaming pile of dog shit. you need one of those 3 guys so walls and wilson can battle for the 3 spot. as far as lankster goes, i just dont think he can make the jump. i believe hes reached his potential. i hope im wrong on this.

as far as milliner goes, i say, if you can make one of those 3 moves, sit him week 1. high ankle sprains linger if not fully healed. bring him back for GB. we can get past oakland without him.

If we have a legit pass rush this may not be as big of a deal as it seems.

i can't even read this fucking thread after the first page. Some of you people must be scared of your shadows. A 3rd round rookie CB nobody heard of or expected to play gets injured and all of the sudden, we're looking at 2-14?! People are talking Trades? Saying Idzik blew it?! Fuck sake you dopes are embarrassing.

Get a hold of yourselves before you type. As long as Milliner isn't on extensive leave during the season, nothing, NOTHING has changed!

The secondary reminds me of the Giants recent SB teams(except Milliner when healthy should be much better than anything NYG had). It's all about the pass rush, we should have a dominating DL and we have a few good pass rushers. That will be the key to the D this year, that will minimize any issues at corner.

I dont buy it. Plus the fanbase would've thrown a fit if we went with another CB in the 1st. Not saying thats reason enough to not do it but still.

There was about 4 other needs that could've been filled with that 1st rounder and Dennard wasnt the surefire best CB in the draft the way Pryor was the best safety.

Oh bullshit nothing has changed. Look, I get where you're coming from, but don't sit here and say nothing has changed.

McDougle was a guy who was getting first team reps and who was doing very well. He was a guy that was being primed for a starting role and at worse, a viable back up that provides much needed depth. Milliner may just have an ankle sprain, but a high ankle sprain is notorious for nagging and leads to other injuries as noted by team physicians in the NFL.

I understand your frustration with people overreacting but don't sit here and say nothing has changed. You'd be ignorant to think that. We lost a piece of our already fragile secondary yesterday. We also had our best corner on the roster go down with a high ankle sprain who was set to have a break out year. Don't be a fool

And for those who want J.Joseph.

His salary for this year is 8.5 plus a 12.5 cap hit.

    No thanks.

different systems junc - i wish we could morph into a giants like or even patriots like system on D but we have different personnel. really wish we had a star outside rusher - that would help. losing depth at CB is a killer for this team and its defense - especially with the QB's on our schedule.

puts the jets in an additional pickle next year as CB will be back on the priority list, regardless of how well milliner progresses.

wish it was that way. we do have some horses up front but there are still too many plays where the jets generate NO rush and thats whats gonna kill them against rodgers, stafford, et al.
