Go read one of the many in depth posts I have made regarding how Sanchez affected the o-line. It's too long to re-type. But the basic premise is that a qb's inability to make good decisions and get rid of the ball quickly puts extra pressure on the o-line and causes them to panic and make mistakes.
Yes I give MS a 1 out of 10 when it comes to making that quick decision. That is truley one of his major weaknesses
That could be valid, but ignoring that the O-line as a whole played poorly compared to last year would be wrong. Look how the run game took a step back also because there was no blocking. Sanchez did hang onto the ball too long, but at the same time, it is inexcusable to give up pressure in half a second. Basically both the qb and oline brought the other one down with them. And then if everyone is covered, he can't rid of the ball quickly. Then we can ask why we didn't have plays to help protect and make quick throws. So I mean, like we all thought, it was a complete unit playing poorly.
This is an interesting topic. I agree that a guy like Hunter will probably benefit from a switch to man blocking. I also agree about B Moore's status with the team being uncertain, he is definitely a zone/cut block OL. No clue what they're gonna do there, but I anticipate one new starter.
I wonder if we can get Vernon Carey by using Sparano's influence. The guy was Miami's lone bright spot on the line before Long came in. The only downside with him was that he was overpaid, we need to watch his price. Also I was thinking a Kareem McKenzie reunion, but that seems like a shot in the dark at this point.
So basically you want Mark to get rid of the ball in about 1 second, otherwise the sack is his fault. Okay, got it. The OL sucked and Hunter was the worst. Blaming Sanchez for the OL's issues is the incorrect assessment.
