I don't believe Clemens will ever be a starter in the NFL, atleast a starter of choice, but as a backup QB he's more than adequate and probably better than 80% of the backup QB's out there....(not counting recently drafted QB's that are technically backup's but are projected future starters).

The best case scenario for Kellen Clemens is Jim Sorgi's career.

agreed... he'll try his luck next year but imo he's going to be a back-up wherever Schotty coaches...

That's a bizarre thought...... what makes you think either of those choices is likely....... just curious:up:

I used to be a believer in Kellen's ability to become a starter in the NFL, he had the arm and seemed to have the intelligence to progress but for whatever reason it never occurred...that or alot of us just were over estimating him...probably a little bit of both him not reaching his potential and a number of us over reading his potential.

That said, a Sorgi like career isn't a disaster for him, just not what most had expected of him when he was drafted.

I'm glad KC is still on the roster. He may not be the greatest, but he got us an (ugly) win last year against the Bucs. If he didn't win that game, the Jets finish 8-8 and out of the playoffs. I'm confident if Mark misses a game or two, Clemens can come in and it won't be an automatic L

    So O'Connell gets waived?
Still don't understand giving up a draft pick for him in the first place?

I never did either. The one we gave up just to cut ties with Favre was a better use of a pick.

    1. Sanchez is gonna put us in a big hole early....i do not believe in his overall ability
    2. Brunell is basically a chearleader for NYJ ...when Sanchez fails early...its gonna come down to throw the year or give KC the ball....well see

We lost out on the chance to sign a seventh rounder. No big deal.

Calm down, Kellen. We don't care if you took a paycut or not. At the end of the day, you're nothing more than Mark's bitch. Both of em....

Does he really? That seems rather unmotivated to me, preferring to sit on the bench rather than to advance his career

Where was he going to advance it? He's not going to start anywhere right now. If you're going to be a backup, be a backup in an offense you've been in your whole career, and also has weapons to use, so if you do get time you have a better chance of playing well and then advancing your career. Where he's at now, being on this roster is the best possible scenario for him.

I don't care if Kellen gave a stool sample, for as shitty as he has been the last 4 years he should be paying the Jets to stay on the roster.

In the 4 years he has been here the only thing he has shown is his weener.

That win vs the Bucs who didn't get a first down till the 3rd quarter wasn't a product of Kellen Clemens.
